CONWAY, S.C. – The ULM tennis team dropped Friday's match at Coastal Carolina, 4-1, at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
 
Coastal claimed the doubles point to open the match with a 1-0 lead. Anna Babayan and Megan Hopton defeated ULM's Jimena Paula Garbino and Alessandra Anghel, 6-2, on court two. Victoire de Samucewicz and Jesse Hollins topped ULM's Giovanna Pereira and Madalina Grigoriu on court one, 6-3, to clinch the point. Daniela Hernandez and Hala Badwy were leading Paola Landin Lopez and Mathilde Tranberg, 4-2, when the match was stopped due to the point being won.
 
In singles play, Coastal extended the lead to 2-0 on court four as Hopton defeated Garbino, 6-0, 6-1. The lead moved to 3-0 on court six as Hollins beat Hernandez, 6-3, 6-3. ULM fought off match point on court two as Alessandra Anghel won over Tranberg, 6-2, 6-4. However, Coastal sealed the match on court five when Babayan defeated Grigoriu, 6-2, 7-6 (10-8).
 
ULM plays its final road match of the season at 10 a.m. EDT/9 a.m. CDT Sunday at App State.
