BOONE, N.C. – The ULM tennis team dropped its fourth-straight Sun Belt Conference road match, losing at App State on Sunday, April 3. The Warhawks dropped the opening conference match of the weekend at Coastal Carolina, 4-1, on Friday.

The Mountaineers (5-11, 3-4 Sun Belt) opened singles play with four consecutive victories at the Deer Valley Racquet Club. Three of the four matches were decided in the third set.

On court three, App State's Ellie Murphy outlasted Oleksandra Balaba in three sets, 6-3, 0-6, 6-1. Erika Dodridge followed with a three-set victory over Alessandra Anghel at court two, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2. On court one, Helena Jansen gave the Mountaineers a 3-0 lead with another three-set win, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, over Hala Badwy. Virginia Poggi clinched App State's second Sun Belt win of the weekend with a straight-sets triumph over Jimena Garbino, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 4 position.

The Mountaineers opened the weekend with a 4-2 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns on Friday.

ULM (6-10, 3-5) closes out the regular-season schedule with a pair of home matches next weekend: Saturday, April 9 against UT Arlington at 10 a.m. and Sunday, April 10 against Texas State at 10 a.m. The Warhawks are a perfect 4-0 in matches played at Heard Stadium this spring.
