MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team dropped Saturday's match to UT Arlington, 4-0, at Heard Stadium.
The Mavericks took the doubles point as Sarina Reinertsen and Carla Pons defeated
Oleksandra Balaba and
Brianna Gomez, 6-3, on court three, and Liz Chileno and Ana Paula Jimenez topped
Hala Badwy and
Daniela Hernandez, 6-4, on court two.
In singles play, UTA expanded the lead to 2-0 when Jimenez defeated Hernandez on court six, 6-2, 6-0. The lead went to 3-0 on court three as Pons defeated Gomez, 6-1, 6-3. The Mavericks wrapped up the sweep on court one as Chileno defeated Badwy, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The Warhawks will honor their three seniors,
Jimena Paula Garbino, Gomez and
Madalina Grigoriu at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Heard Stadium. ULM plays its final regular-season match of the season at 10 a.m. against Texas State.
