MONROE, La. – New Orleans scored five runs, all with two outs, in the fourth inning to take the lead and pulled away for a 10-5 win over ULM, completing the series sweep Sunday afternoon at Warhawk Field.
Trailing ULM (1-9) 2-1 with the bases empty and two outs, UNO (8-2) started its huge fourth-inning rally with Tyler Bischke's groundball single through the middle of the infield. Jorge Tejeda reached on an error and Jeissy De La Cruz was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Kasten Furr followed with a 2-RBI single to put the Privateers on top, 3-2. Amani Larry added an RBI single and Pearce Howard stroked an RBI double to increase the lead to 5-2. A bases-loaded walk to Miguel Useche capped the rally, putting UNO up 6-2.
The Warhawks pushed back in the fifth inning. Senior
Mason Holt led off with a walk and senior
Ryan Cupit followed with a double off the batter's eye in center field. Senior
Grant Schulz hit a sacrifice fly to score Holt and Cupit came home on a wild pitch to cut the gap to 6-4.
UNO rebuilt and extended its lead thanks to Warhawk mistakes in the seventh. Issac Williams' RBI single plated Anthony Herron Jr. Williams scored on a passed ball and Bischke scored on an error as the Privateers capped a 3-run inning to take a 9-4 lead.

The Warhawks had a chance to draw closer in the eighth inning. ULM loaded the bases with one out, but Cato grounded into an inning-ending double play to retire the side.
UNO tacked on another insurance run in the top of the ninth as Herron Jr. picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice, scoring Larry.
The Privateers took a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning when Herron's RBI single scored Furr. ULM answered in the bottom of the first as Cupit's RBI single brought in Holt. The Warhawks took the lead in the second on sophomore

The Warhawks had plenty of chances to score, picking up at least one hit in eight innings. ULM outhit UNO, 14-12. Cupit had a career-high four hits, including a double, RBI and run scored. Cervantes, Deaville and Jones had two hits each.
UNO was paced by three hits by Larry, while Furr had three RBIs.
UNO reliever Jack Williams (2-0) earned the win, throwing 2 2/3 innings in relief of starter Collin Horton, allowing one run on four hits with one walk and one strikeout. ULM senior
Tyler Lien (0-1) suffered the loss, pitching the first 3 2/3 innings, allowing six runs, one earned, with six hits, two walks and one strikeout.
ULM hosts Northwestern State at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Warhawk Field.
