MONROE, La. – The ULM beach volleyball team split its matches on the final day of the ULM Beach Invitational, falling to New Orleans, 3-2, before bouncing back with a win over Southeastern, 4-1, to go 3-1 in the tournament.

"This weekend was phenomenal," ULM director of volleyball
Charlie Olson said. "Not only did we have the opportunity to play on our home courts this season for a second time, but we also had the chance to recognize three seniors who have given so much to this program and our university.

"Overall, our team went 3-1 on the weekend," Olson said. "We sincerely appreciate all the support from friends, family, students and athletes who came out to cheer on our squad. We look forward to closing out these last two weekends strong before we turn to the conference championships."
ULM plays at the Southern Miss Beach Invitational on Friday and Saturday, facing Southern Miss, Tulane, Spring Hill and UNO.
New Orleans 3, ULM 2
ULM found success on courts four and five vs. New Orleans, but the Privateers won the top three courts to take the match over ULM, 3-2, and take a 2-1 lead in the season series.
Abbey Bufkin and
Abigail Elder posted a win on court five to open the day, 21-19, 21-14, over Liz Gialanella and Valerie Vujnovich. Gallant and
Rylin Adams also won on court four, 21-5, 21-16, against Taylore Louviere and Hailey Melerine.
The Privateers picked up their first point on court three where Trinity Jackson and Alexa Spartz downed
Kaitlyn Nowak and
Avery Reynolds, 21-13, 21-17. UNO sealed the match on court two with a win by Maxine Walsh and Hannah Volpi over
Brooke Hoven and Moreland, 21-19, 21-13. The match wrapped up on court one as Lucie Pokorna and Ania Esarte topped Brooks and
Julia Blazek, 22-20, 21-14.

The Warhawks closed the home schedule with a 4-1 win over Southeastern, picking up three sweeps on the top three courts to help pick up the victory.
Gallant and Adams picked up the first point on court three, rolling past Jackie McGee and Hannah Brewer, 21-10, 21-15. Hoven and Moreland followed on court two with a 22-20, 21-13, win over Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi. Brooks and Blazek sealed the win on court one with a 22-20, 21-19, win over Jolie Hidalgo and Meagan Scuderi.
Bufkin and Elder pushed the lead to 4-0 on court five with a 21-18, 21-23, 15-13 win over Mabry Ward and Eryn Wilks. Southeastern earned its only point on court four with a 24-22, 21-23, 15-12, win by Ariana Hebert and Avery Carroll over Nowak and Reynolds.
