STARKVILLE, Miss. – The ULM track and field team had 15 Top-5 placings on the second day of the Maroon & White Invitational at Mississippi State.
Rojs Puks picked up a pair of wins in the men's 1500 and 3000 meters, while
Kimone Campbell won the women's 1500. Puks won the 1500 in 3:59.68 and the 3000 in 9:05.10. Campbell followed up her school-record in the 800 on Friday with a time of 4:38.26 in the 1500 on Saturday.
Also for the women,
Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi was second in the triple jump with a leap of 41-0 3/4.
Brittney Roberson,
Jasmine Williams, Campbell and
Fiebe Tengrootenhuysen combined to finish third in the 4x400 relay in 3:46.86. Roberson also was fourth in the 400 in 56.43 and Williams was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.26.
Alivia Busch placed fourth in the shot put at 45-4 3/4.
On the men's side,
Stephen Mengich was second in the 800 in 1:52.00.
Keith Robinson was second in the 100 in 10.31. He also teamed with
Joseph White,
Jhavonte Perry and
Brandon Lewis to place third in the 4x100 relay in 40.78. White and Perry teamed with
Juan Loredo and
Eric Hawkins to finish third in the 4x400 relay in 3:19.49.
Bailey Couch was third in the javelin with a heave of 197-1. Perry was fourth in the 100 in 10.40 and Lewis was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 54.80.
ULM competes in the Sun Belt Conference Championship starting Thursday, May 12, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
