MATCH NOTES
MONROE, La. - The ULM volleyball team opens the 2022 season with three matches at the Texan Invitational, hosted by Tarleton State, at Wisdom Volleyball Gym in Stephenville, Texas. The Warhawks meet intrastate foe Northwestern State at 1 p.m. Friday for the first match of the season before taking on Fairleigh Dickinson at 10 a.m. Saturday and the Texans at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Warhawks enter 2022 after posting a 5-27 mark, 1-15 in Sun Belt Conference play, in 2021. ULM lost its final 16 matches of the 2021 season after opening SBC play with a 3-1 win over Georgia State. The Warhawks lost eight letterwinners from last year's team, including senior
Cali Assaley, who was named Second-Team All-Louisiana. She set the new ULM 25-point rally scoring era record for kills in a single season with 347 (3.40 per set) while adding 363.5 points. However, return their leaders in assists (
Mariana Volponi e Giordan, 506 assists, 6.02 per set), aces (Volponi e Giordan, 22) and blocks per set (
Logan Jeffus, 0.52).
Cameron Rogers returns after she was second on the team with 225 digs and
Kathryn Raschilla is back after leading the team with 41 blocks.
SERIES HISTORY -
• vs. Northwestern State - Friday's match is the 56th meeting between the Warhawks and Demons, with ULM leading the series, 35-25. ULM snapped a nine-game losing skid to the Demons last season in Natchitoches, winning 3-1 on August 31.
