MONROE, La. -Â The ULM soccer team wraps up non-conference play at 4 p.m. Thursday at Prairie View A&M before beginning Sun Belt Conference play at 10 a.m. Sunday at App State. The Warhawks will try to protect their unbeaten record after moving to 7-0-1 with wins over Texas Southern, 1-0, and Tarleton, 3-1, in the past week.

Lucia Lobato headed in a lob by Lena Göppel on a set piece in the 76th minute, lifting the Warhawks to a 1-0 win over Texas Southern Friday night at Brown Stadium in a match that was delayed one hour and 43 minutes by lightning.

The match began in moderate rain that gradually let up before ending as the match wore on. The Warhawks dominated the match but were unable to find the back of the net until Lobato's goal in the second half. ULM fired 40 shots, with 18 on frame, while holding Texas Southern without a shot attempt in the match. The Warhawks also had 12 corner kick attempts to none for Texas Southern.
Ashley Washburn fired nine shots, with four on goal, to lead ULM. Lobato had five shots with four on target.
Inge Konst had six shots with three on goal.

Eve Blakey tallied two first-half goals and
Inge Konst added a penalty kick as ULM defeated Tarleton State, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at Brown Stadium.

Blakey opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Washburn sent a pass up the right sideline to Lobato, who dribbled to the right side of the box and fired a cross to Blakey, who knocked the ball into the bottom right corner for the 1-0 lead.

Blakey struck again in the 30th minute. On a free kick, Göppel fired a pass from near midfield to the top of the box. The ball was knocked back out to
Kathryn Yarbrough near the midfield circle. She launched another pass into the scrum, where
Paula Guba headed it toward Blakey in the box. Blakey deflected the ball past Tarleton goalkeeper Mikayla Kendall and into the bottom center of the net for the 2-0 advantage.

ULM (7-0-1) added to the lead in the 75th minute as Konst converted a penalty kick, pushing the lead to 3-0, before going on to the 3-1 victory.
SERIES HISTORY –
• Thursday's match is the second-ever meeting between ULM and Prairie View A&M. The Warhawks posted a 6-0 win on Sept. 2, 2005, in Monroe.
• Sunday's match is the ninth meeting between ULM and App State, with the previous eight meetings coming in the last eight seasons, beginning when App State joined the Sun Belt Conference prior to the 2014 season. The Warhawks posted their first-ever win over App last season, taking a 2-1 victory in a weather-shortened match at Brown Stadium on Oct. 15, 2021. App State leads the series, 6-1-1. ULM is 0-3-1 in Boone, North Carolina.

ULM continues Sun Belt Conference play at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 when they meet Southern Miss at Brown Stadium in Monroe. The Warhawks then visit Texas State at 1 p.m. Sept. 25.
