MONROE, La. -Â The ULM soccer team continues Sun Belt Conference play at 7 p.m. Thursday against Southern Miss at Brown Stadium. The Warhawks then head back on the road for another SBC match at 1 p.m. Sunday at Texas State. Sunday's match will stream on ESPN+.

RECAP -
• Five different ULM players scored goals as the Warhawks finished non-conference play unbeaten with a 5-1 win over Prairie View A&M Thursday afternoon, Sept. 15, at Lady Panther Soccer Field.
Taylor Henry gave ULM the early edge, scoring in the 11th minute off an assist by
Mara Grutkamp, putting the Warhawks up, 1-0. PVAMU (0-4) knotted the match in the 35th minute as Lesa Griffin scored to level the match at 1. ULM regained the lead before halftime as Grutkamp found the back of the net to put the Warhawks up, 2-1. The score held to halftime.
The Warhawks started pulling away quickly in the second half, as
Santana Pressley scored her first goal at ULM just 22 seconds into the half, pushing the lead to 3-1. In the 58th minute,
Inge Konst converted a penalty kick as the Warhawks extended the lead to 4-1.
Ashley Washburn added the final goal of the night, converting off an assist from
Peyton Pipes, for the final margin of 5-1.
ULM outshout PVAMU, 22-5, including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.
• ULM opened Sun Belt Conference play with its first loss of the season, falling 1-0 to App State at the Appalachian Soccer Stadium Sunday, Sept. 18.
The Warhawks had 26 shots on the day but put just nine on goal. App State had 19 shots but placed 13 on frame.
Mickaela Leal made a career high 12 saves for ULM, while Kerry Eagleston stopped all nine shots for App.
In the 50th minute, a red card on App's Katie Fuller forced the Mountaineers to play with 10 players for the rest of the match.Â
App broke the scoreless tie in the 64th minute as Shannon Studer fired a shot from the top left corner of the box, sending the shot passes Leal's outstretched hand and into the top right corner of the net for the goal, putting the Mountaineers up, 1-0.
ULM put five shots on goal the rest of the match, but were unable to sneak one past Eagleston. The best scoring chance came in the 90th minute, when
Lucia Lobato's shot was stopped by Eagleston, but a rebound hopped out to the right side in front of the goal. However,
Taylor Henry's attempt missed wide to the right, giving App a goal kick.
SERIES HISTORY –
Thursday's match against Southern Miss is the ninth meeting between the two teams, with USM leading the series, 6-2. ULM picked up a 1-0 win on Sept. 1, 2019, in the last meeting, played at Brown Stadium in Monroe. USM last defeated ULM, 7-0, on Aug. 19, 2018, in Hattiesburg. ULM is 2-2 all-time at home against USM.
Sunday's match at Texas State is the 25th all-time meeting, with Texas State leading the series, 16-7-1. ULM won last year's match in San Marcos, 3-1, to snap a seven-match winless streak in the series. The Bobcats last won, 3-1, on Oct. 25, 2020, in San Marcos. Texas State leads the series in San Marcos, 7-4-1.

ULM ranks inside the Top 50 in NCAA Division I in several stat categories, including: shots on goal per game (second at 11.80, first in Sun Belt Conference); shots per game (third at 24.40, first SBC); total goals (11th at 27, first SBC), total points (15th at 74, first SBC); scoring offense (27th at 2.70, first SBC); fouls per game (31st at 6.80, third SBC); total assists (33rd at 20, first SBC); points per game (37th at 7.40, first SBC) and corner kicks per game (37th at 6.60, second SBC). ULM also leads the SBC in assists per game (2.00).
Individually, several Warhawks rank inside the Top 50 in the stat rankings.
Eve Blakey is sixth in shot accuracy (.722, first in SBC).
Ashley Washburn is ninth in shots on goal per game (2.38, first SBC), 17th in shots per game (4.25, first SBC) and 37th in game-winning goals (2, third SBC).
