2022 ULM Football Notes: Game 5 vs. Arkansas State
Â
Coach Bowden Weekly Press Conference: A-State Preview
Â
 FIRST-AND-10 –
• ULM plays for its first 2-0 start to Sun Belt Conference play since 2019 when the Warhawks visit Jonesboro to take on Arkansas State at 6 p.m. Saturday. ULM moved to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in SBC action with a 21-17 come-from-behind victory over the Ragin' Cajuns last Saturday at Malone Stadium. The Warhawks scored 14 fourth-quarter points to rally for the win. Arkansas State is 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the SBC after last Saturday's 29-26 loss at Old Dominion, wrapping up a three-game road swing for the Red Wolves.
Â
• Saturday's game marks the 45th meeting between ULM and Arkansas State. The Red Wolves lead the series, 30-14, and have won the last 12 meetings, dating back to 2010. A-State won last year's meeting, 27-24, in Monroe on Nov. 13. The Red Wolves won the last meeting in Jonesboro, 48-15, on Dec. 5, 2020. ULM last defeated Arkansas State in Jonesboro, 16-7, on Nov. 17, 2001, a span of eight games.
Â
• Andrew Henry rushed 11 times for a career-high 123 yards and one touchdown in ULM's 21-17 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns as the Warhawks snapped a four-game losing streak against their rival. Henry's career-long 75-yard TD run tied the score a 7-all in the first quarter. It marked his second career 100-yard rushing game.Â
Â
ULM also ended the Ragin' Cajuns' 13-game winning streak in Sun Belt Conference play.
Â
• Through four games, sophomore quarterback Chandler Rogers has thrown for 649 yards on 59-of-91 passing (64.8%) with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also has rushed for 105 yards and two TDs.
Â
He was 14-of-26 passing for 192 yards and an interception while rushing for 36 yards and had a 5-yard TD run in the fourth quarter in last Saturday's 21-17 win over the Ragin' Cajuns.
Â
• Junior wide receiver Tyrone Howell had his first 100-yard receiving game as a Warhawk against the Ragin' Cajuns. He caught three passes for 124 yards, including an 89-yard catch-and-run to set up Malik Jackson's go-ahead 2-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. His 89-yard reception ranks as the fourth-longest pass play in ULM history. It was his first 100-yard receiving game since his true freshman season at NCAA Division II Central Oklahoma in 2018, when he caught five passes for 152 yards and 2 TDs at Lindenwood.
Â
His 166 receiving yards leads the team, while his 10 receptions ranks second on the team behind Jevin Frett.
Â
• Sophomore linebacker Tristan Driggers has three interceptions through the first four games of the season. He is tied for the SBC lead with three interceptions and is tied for second in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, behind Nevada's Bentlee Sanders. His 0.8 interceptions per game also ranks first in the SBC and second in FBS.
Â
He leads the Warhawks with 16 tackles, nine solos and seven assists, with one tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry.
Â
• Super senior linebacker Zack Woodard was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association Defensive Player of the Week after he recorded a season-high eight tackles, including a 10-yard sack, recovered a fumble and was credited with a quarterback hurry in ULM's 21-17 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns.Â
Â
After surrendering touchdowns on the Ragin' Cajuns' first two possessions, ULM allowed only one field goal over the next 12 drives and pitched a shutout in the second half. The Warhawks limited the Cajuns to 86 rushing yards on 38 attempts (2.3 yards per carry). ULM produced seven tackles for loss, including three sacks, to go along with two takeaways.Â
Â
With his eight stops, Woodard surpassed the 250-career milestone for tackles. He currently ranks 27th among active NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision players with 256 career tackles.
Â
• Junior cornerback Car'lin Vigers made a big impact in last Saturday's 21-17 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns, posting four tackles, all solos, with two pass break-ups and his first career interception, stopping a Cajun drive at the ULM 42-yard line while protecting the Warhawks' lead with 3:36 remaining in the game.
Â
Vigers has nine tackles (six solos, three assists), a tackle for loss, an interception and two pass break-ups in four games.
Â
• Fifth-year senior Devyn McCormick ranks eighth in the Sun Belt Conference and 49th in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision with his 42.1-yard punting average. He had seven punts for an average of 38.9 yards per punt last Saturday vs. the Ragin' Cajuns, including a long of 54 yards.
Â
He was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 12. He averaged 44.0 yards on five punts, including three kicks down inside the opponent's 20-yard line, in ULM's 35-7 win over Nicholls on Sept. 10.
Â
• Through four games, ULM is one of 13 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision to remain perfect in red zone offense. The Warhawks have scored points on all nine trips inside the red zone, including a 5-for-5 mark against Nicholls on Sept. 10. ULM picked up touchdowns on both trips to the red zone against the Ragin' Cajuns last Saturday, a field goal on its only trip inside the red zone at RV/No. 18 Texas on Sept. 3 and scored a touchdown on its only red zone visit at No. 2/1 Alabama on Sept. 17. The Warhawks have scored touchdowns on eight of their nine red zone trips, and have scored six rushing touchdowns in the nine visits.

ULM/ARKANSAS STATE SERIES NOTES –
Saturday's game marks the 45th meeting between ULM and Arkansas State.
Â
THE LAST MEETING –
Arkansas State 27, ULM 24 (Nov. 13, 2021 in Monroe, La.): ULM's offense slumbered for much of the game Saturday night and Arkansas State hung around long enough to escape with a 27-24 win at Malone Stadium.
Â
Blake Grupe kicked a 42-yard field goal with 1:17 left in the game to give the Red Wolves (2-8, 1-5 Sun Belt) their 12th straight win over ULM (4-6, 2-5).
Â
ULM's third-straight loss overshadowed a breakout game by Malik Jackson and a salty overall defensive performance.
Â
Listed as a receiver on the roster, Jackson made the start at running back and scampered for a career-high 166 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. A 5-foot-9, 178-yard sophomore, Jackson's previous career highs were five carries at Texas State and 49 rushing yards against South Alabama.
Â
Fittingly for Military Day on ULM's campus, the defense snagged two interceptions and made three stops on fourth down. Zack Woodard paced the Warhawks with a career-high 15 tackles, three tackles for losses including a sack.
Â
ULM staggered through most of the first half, yet trailed just 10-7 at the break, thanks to a 53-yard run by Jackson that set up his own touchdown. Prior to Jackson's score with 33 seconds left in the half, ULM's offense produced six punts and an interception.
Â
Then on the first play of the second half, Jackson was off and running again as he raced 75 yards for a touchdown and ULM led 14-10. ULM would extend that lead to 21-10 before faltering down the stretch.
Â
Out with a chest injury since Sept. 25, quarterback Rhett Rodriguez returned to the starting lineup while his replacement Chandler Rogers was also on the field with the first-team offense. Rogers was listed as a starting running back alongside Jackson.
Â
Rodriguez took most of the snaps through the game and finished 12-of-29 passing for 160 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Rogers was 4-for-6 for 35 yards and sacked four times. ULM gained 372 yards on 75 plays overall but it came in spurts.
Â
Neither quarterback was able to move the offense early after the defense provided a pair of first-quarter takeaways.
Â
After tossing an interception to ULM's Quae Drake on Arkansas State's first drive, quarterback Layne Hatcher came back on the second series to lead a six-play, 80-yard drive that took just 1:48 off the clock. Corey Rucker, who opened the drive with a 36-yard reception from Hatcher, finished the march with a 9-yard touchdown on a speed sweep that gave the Red Wolves a 7-0 lead.
Â
Keilos Swinney gave ULM its second interception of the game with 6:58 left in the first quarter, but again, the offense sputtered and the Warhawks punted.
Â
The frustrations continued. After forcing a turnover on downs at the ULM 25 early in the second quarter, the Warhawks went three-and-out.
Â
The Red Wolves extended the lead to 10-0 on a 30-yard field goal by Grupe with 11:10 to go before the half. Arkansas State scored to finish a six-play, 69-yard drive.
Â
Arkansas State gambled on fourth-and-1 from its own 33, but quarterback Wyatt Begeal slipped for a loss of 1. ULM couldn't take advantage of the field position though, as Rodriguez was picked off by Denzel Blackwell at the A-State 6.
Â
Taking over after a punt with 1:28 left in the first half, ULM finally found an offensive spark from Jackson. A 53-yard run up the middle moved the chains down to the ASU 10. Three carries later, Jackson burst into the end zone for a 3-yard touchdown run with 33 seconds to go to cut the lead to 10-7.
Â
The Warhawks finished the half with 141 yards total offense but 63 yards came on the final drive. With Andrew Henry out with an injury, Jackson carried 10 times for 72 yards in the first two quarters.
Â
ULM's defense delivered a third fourth-down stop against the Red Wolves on their first drive of the third quarter. Caleb Thomas and Jabari Johnson made the tackle for no gain at the 50.
Â
This time the Warhawks capitalized on the defensive gift. Rodriguez converted on third-and-18 with a 32-yard pass to Boogie Knight before tossing a 17-yard touchdown pass to Jevin Frett to give ULM a 21-10 lead with 10:01 to go in the third.
Â
Even after absorbing a 21-0 run by ULM, the Red Wolves wouldn't go quietly. Hatcher gunned a 22-yard touchdown pass to Te'Vailance Hunt with 7:26 remaining in the third to pull Arkansas State within 21-17.
Â
ULM scored on a fourth-straight possession as Calum Sutherland kicked a 32-yard field goal at the 5:00 mark of the third quarter. A 36-yard pass from Rodriguez to Frett and a 17-yard run by the ULM quarterback helped maneuver the Warhawks into scoring position.
Â
After the Warhawks limited Arkansas State to just three first downs in the third quarter, the Red Wolves regained their offensive footing in the fourth. Hunt hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Hatcher with 7:56 left in the game to tie the score at 24-24. Arkansas State covered 77 yards in nine plays, including converting a fourth-and-2 at the ULM 30.
Â
Arkansas State drove 55 yards in nine plays to kick its go-ahead field goal. The Red Wolves outgained ULM, 155-34, in the final quarter and scored the final 10 points.
Â
The Warhawks managed just 3 yards in the fourth quarter until their final drive, which ended on a Rodriguez interception at the A-State 8 with 20 seconds remaining.
Â
THE LAST MEETING IN JONESBORO –
Arkansas State 48, ULM 15 (Dec. 5, 2020, in Jonesboro, Ark.): Outmanned and outgunned, ULM was no match for Arkansas State's aerial attack at Centennial Bank Stadium.
Â
Freshman receiver Corey Rucker set a school record with nine catches for 310 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-15 win over the Warhawks, who lost an 11th-straight game to their Sun Belt Conference foes.
Â
ULM slipped to 0-10, 0-7 in the Sun Belt while Arkansas State improved to 4-7, 2-6.
Â
Senior running back Josh Johnson returned to the starting lineup for the first time since injuring his hamstring on Oct. 31 against App State and rushed for 52 yards on 11 carries with a touchdown.
Â
In his second start, quarterback Jeremy Hunt completed 20-of-34 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown. Arkansas State sacked Hunt three times.
Â
Against a ULM team that dressed 59 players and a defense dwindled to 20, the Red Wolves outgained the Warhawks in total yardage 589 to 323.
Â
The Red Wolves alternated quarterbacks Layne Hatcher (326 yards, five TDs) and Logan Bonner (185 yards, 1 TD), who combined for 511 passing yards. Rucker, who tied Omar Bayless' Arkansas State record for most TD catches in a game, had just seven catches for 143 yards and one touchdown coming into the contest. He also set an NCAA record for a freshman receiver with his breakout performance.
Â
ULM followed a season-long script for trouble by falling behind early. After going three-and-out on its first possession this season for the eighth time in 10 games, the Warhawks surrendered a 55-yard touchdown pass from Bonner to Rucker and trailed 7-0.
Â
The Warhawks tied the score at 7-7 on Johnson's 4-yard touchdown run. A 34-yard kickoff return by Perry Carter to the ULM 44 helped launch the four play, 56-yard touchdown sequence.
Â
Arkansas State regained the edge at 14-7 as Hatcher came in and also targeted Rucker for a 30-yard touchdown strike to cap an eight-play, 98-yard drive.
Â
Big plays hurt the defense, but the ULM offense missed on several opportunities to keep pace.
Â
Near the end of the first quarter, ULM squandered good field position after Arkansas State misfired on a fake punt attempt. The Warhawks took over at midfield but went three-and-out before punting back to the Red Wolves.
Â
Arkansas State retaliated with swift four-play, 81-yard scoring drive and led 21-7 early in the second quarter after Hatcher's 15-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Foreman. Rucker's 69-yard reception on the first play of the series flipped the field for the Red Wolves.
Â
ULM freshman Tre Odom made his first career interception off Hatcher in the second quarter and returned it 32 yards to the ULM 43. The pick was the fourth of the season for the Warhawks, who couldn't convert the turnover into points as the drive ended with Davis Hughes missing a field-goal attempt from 35 yards.
Â
From there, the Red Wolves were headed back to the end zone again. Hatcher tossed a 46-yard touchdown to Foreman to culminate a five-play, 80-yard drive and give his team a 28-7 advantage with 6:21 left in the half.
Â
ULM maneuvered into scoring position near the end of the second quarter but turned the ball over on downs when tight Josh Pederson couldn't haul in a fourth-and-7 pass in the end zone.
Arkansas State outgained ULM, 349-166, in the first half while building the 21-point cushion.
Â
Rucker's monster day continued in the second half as he corralled a 66-yard touchdown catch from Hatcher on the third play of the third quarter as Arkansas State went up 35-7.
Â
ULM's defense contributed to the scoring column with a safety in the third quarter. Jabari Johnson's pressure on Bonner caused an intentional grounding call from the end zone and earned the Warhawk defender a sack.
Â
From the ensuing free kick, Carter's 52-yard return to the ASU 18 led to six more points for the Warhawks. Five plays later, Hunt linked up with Malik Jackson for a 5-yard touchdown pass with 7:45 remaining in the third. Johnson's 2-point conversion run failed as ULM narrowed the score to 35-15.
Â
The Warhawks could have cut the deficit to two scores with 1:01 showing in the third but couldn't convert on fourth down from the Arkansas State 5.
Â
Instead, the Red Wolves drove 71 yards in five plays into kicking range to add a 41-yard field goal by Blake Grupe and led 38-15 with 14:50 left in the game.
Â
Arkansas State blocked a Daniel Sparks punt and recovered at the ULM 31, which set up Rucker's fourth touchdown catch on a pass from Hatcher.
Â
Grupe kicked a 42-yard field goal with 7:12 left in the game, stretching the lead to 48-15. Rucker's 30-yard catch on the drive punctuated his record-smashing day.
Â
THE LAST TIME OUT –
ULM 21, Ragin' Cajuns 17 (Sept. 24, 2022, in Monroe, La.): Some wins just mean more.
Â
Basking in the glow of ULM's 21-17 win over the Ragin' Cajuns Saturday night at Malone Stadium, head coach Terry Bowden made that point perfectly clear.
Â
"I told our players last night, some Ws are more important than other Ws," Bowden said. "There are several reasons why Lafayette is more important. Obviously, it's a rival. Our school, our alumni, our town, our fans, they have a special feeling when we win that game. Our players will learn to understand that. I do (understand) how important a rival is, especially one that our fans are passionate about."
Â
On a night when ULM's defense held the line, it was fitting that the final play was a sack by Caleb Thomas and Fitzroy Gardner. The two Warhawks dropped Ragin' Cajun quarterback Chandler Fields for an 8-yard loss at the 50 as time expired.
Â
The Warhawks (2-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) trailed by 10 at the half but pitched a second-half shutout. The offense scuffled at times, but dialed up just enough big plays to turn the tide.
Â
With ULM trailing by three points with 8:11 left in the game, Rogers hit Tyrone Howell for an 89-yard pass play that took the ball to the Cajun 1. Two plays later, Malik Jackson powered in for a 2-yard touchdown that gave the Warhawks their first lead at 21-17 with 6:51 left in the game.
Â
After Jackson's score gave ULM its four-point lead, the Cajuns took over at their 20 with 6:51 remaining. Facing fourth-and-4 from the Cajun 46 with 4:19 left, Fields scrambled 12 yards to keep the chains moving.
Â
Then on third-and-10 from the ULM 42, Car'lin Vigers intercepted Fields at the 26 and returned the takeaway to the ULM 35 with 3:36 showing.
Â
The Ragin' Cajuns (2-2, 0-1 Sun Belt) had one final chance after its turnover but saw the final drive expire at midfield. The win was ULM's first over the Cajuns since a 56-50 decision in Lafayette in 2017, ending a four-game losing streak to the Cajuns.
Â
The Cajuns, who saw a 15-game winning streak end last week at Rice, had their 13-game Sun Belt Conference winning streak end at Malone Stadium.
Â
Running back Andrew Henry was one of ULM's top offensive performers with a career-high 123 yards on 11 carries. His 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the first sign of life for the Warhawks.
Â
A Kansas State transfer, Howell caught three balls for 124 yards in his breakout game. The Warhawks finished with 419 yards of total offense while holding the Cajuns to 354.
Â
ULM took the opening kickoff and drove 51 yards on nine plays but came away with no points when Calum Sutherland missed wide left on a 41-yard field-goal attempt.
Â
The Cajuns came back with a more fruitful march, gobbling up 76 yards on six plays and scoring on a 9-yard touchdown run by Fields to go up 7-0 with 7:56 showing in the first.
Â
Henry provided a rapid response, bolting 75 yards on the second play of ULM's next drive to tie the score at 7 with 7:02 left in the quarter.
Â
The Ragin' Cajuns led 14-7 with 5:11 remaining in the first period after Fields found Michael Jefferson on a 50-yard touchdown pass. Jefferson caught the ball in traffic at the ULM 24 and ran untouched to the end zone.
Â
ULM's defense settled in after a shaky start. Zack Woodard recovered a fumble early in the second quarter, then registered a quarterback sack at the ULL 2 on the Cajuns' second series that led to a punt. Woodard led ULM with eight tackles.
Â
Taking over at its own 47, the Warhawks didn't take advantage as Rogers tossed an interception that the Ragin' Cajuns' Courtland Flowers returned to the ULM 20. The Warhawks made a nice stand though, limiting the Cajuns to 28-yard field goal by Preston Stafford. The Cajuns led 17-7 with 7:25 to go before halftime.
Â
ULM trailed by 10 at the half despite outgaining the Cajuns, 226 to 184. The Warhawks punted five times, made one turnover and missed a field goal.
Â
A scoreless third quarter still provided plenty of action.
Â
The Warhawks fumbled away a promising drive on their first series of the third. The possession started with 10-straight rushes for 49 yards but fizzled when Boogie Knight fumbled at the Cajun 28 after making a 10-yard catch.
Â
The Cajuns drove into scoring position at the ULM 6 after the takeaway but came up empty on a bad snap and incomplete pass while lining up for a field-goal attempt.
Â
The defense continued to make plays to keep ULM within striking distance in the fourth quarter. Cornerback David Godsey sacked Fields to force a punt, then an errant snap lost 23 yards and set the Warhawks up at the ULL 8 after the turnover on downs.
Â
Two plays later, Rogers rushed in for a 5-yard touchdown to narrow the deficit to 17-14 with 11:07 left in the game to put the Warhawks back in business.
Â
The comeback win improved ULM's record to 4-10 under Bowden when trailing at halftime and 6-2 at Malone Stadium under the second-year coach.
Â
SIX WARHAWKS HAVE MADE FIRST-TIME STARTS IN 2022 –
ULM right guard Nick Lowe (6-3, 385, Jr.) made his first career start last Saturday against No. 2/1 Alabama. He is the sixth Warhawk to make a first-time start in 2022.
Â
ULM's starting lineup for the 2022 season opener at Texas featured five first-time starters, including three on the offensive side of the football and two more on defense.Â
Â
The first-time starters on offense were left tackle center Zarian McGill (6-1, 315, So.), right guard Tellek Lockette (6-4, 331, Fr.) and right tackle Stacey Wilkins (6-7, 321, So.). The first-time starters on defense included Will linebacker Tristan Driggers (6-2, 204, So.) and Cat safety Keydrain Calligan (6-0, 195, So.).
Â
By comparison, ULM's 2021 opening-game lineup Kentucky included 14 first-time starters.
Â
HENRY SHINES IN WIN AGAINST RAGIN' CAJUNS –
Andrew Henry rushed 11 times for a career-high 123 yards and one touchdown in ULM's 21-17 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns as the Warhawks snapped a four-game losing streak against their rival. Henry's career-long 75-yard TD run tied the score a 7-all in the first quarter. It marked his second career 100-yard rushing game.Â
Â
ULM also ended the Ragin' Cajuns' 13-game winning streak in Sun Belt Conference play.
Â
He entered last Saturday's game against the Cajuns with just 45 yards on 18 carries in the first three games of the season.
Â
Henry led ULM in rushing (485 yards) and rushing touchdowns (4) in 2021. In addition, the 5-foot-10, 196-pound Henry gained an impressive 73 percent of his rushing yards (352 of 485) after contact. He ranked second on the team in runs of 10 or more yards (11) and in runs that resulted in first downs (20).
Â
Henry led ULM in rushing for the fifth time in 2021 at Texas State, picking up 82 yards on a season-high 23 rushing attempts. He capped off a 12-play, 75-yard drive with a 1-yard TD run late in the first quarter.
Â
Henry paced the Warhawk ground game for the second consecutive week against South Alabama, gaining 88 yards on 18 carries. He closed the opening drive with a 20-yard TD run.Â
Â
The Dallas, Texas, native led the team in rushing against Liberty, gaining 80 yards on 15 carries, including a 40-yard TD run in the third quarter. Â
Â
He made the most of his second career start against Troy, rushing for 108 yards on 19 carries and scoring his first career touchdown on a 40-yard run on a fourth-and-1 play. It was the first 100-yard rushing game by a Warhawk since Josh Johnson ran for 109 yards at UL Lafayette on Nov. 30, 2019.
Â
MISTER ROGERS' OFFENSE –
Through four games, sophomore quarterback Chandler Rogers has thrown for 649 yards on 59-of-91 passing (64.8%) with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also has rushed for 105 yards and two TDs.
Â
He was 14-of-26 passing for 192 yards and an interception while rushing for 36 yards and had a 5-yard TD in the fourth quarter in last Saturday's 21-17 win over the Ragin' Cajuns.
Â
Against No. 2/1 Alabama, Rogers threw for 96 yards on 11-of-21 passing with an interception. He was sacked four times in the loss.
Â
He accounted for 308 yards total offense and three touchdowns in leading ULM to a 35-7 win over Nicholls on Sept. 10 in the Warhawks' home opener. Rogers recorded his first 200-yard passing game of the season and fifth of his career, completing 20-of-25 throws for 253 yards and two scores. He completed passes to 10 different receivers, including TD strikes of 4 yards to Zach Rasmussen and 18 yards to Jevin Frett. Rogers added 55 rushing yards on eight carries, including a 9-yard TD run around left end early in the fourth quarter.
Â
He made his eighth starting appearance of his career in the season opener on Sept. 3 at Texas. He completed 14-of-19 passes for 108 yards and an interception. He was sacked three times. He hit eight different receivers with his 14 completions.
Â
The 6-foot, 194-pound Rogers, who outdueled junior Jiya Wright for the starting nod, appeared in all 12 games in 2021, including six consecutive starts in the middle of the season (at Coastal Carolina, vs. Georgia State, vs. Liberty, vs. South Alabama, at App State and at Texas State) after Rhett Rodriguez suffered a chest injury in Game 3 against Troy. He became one of 16 freshmen quarterbacks to start at least six regular-season games in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision in 2021 and started seven games overall after joining Rodriguez in the backfield for ULM's first play from scrimmage in the home finale against Arkansas State.
Â
Rogers played 476 offensive snaps and accounted for 1,678 yards total offense and 10 touchdowns. He completed 112-of-179 throws for 1,311 yards, nine TDs and three interceptions. Rogers ranked among the Sun Belt Conference leaders in completion percentage (third at .626) and passing efficiency rating (sixth at 137.3 rating). His .626 completion percentage set the ULM single-season record while his 137.3 passing efficiency rating ranks third on the school's single-season chart. He led the team in passing and total offense while finishing third in rushing with 139 carries for 367 yards and a score. Rogers led the team in runs of 10 or more yards (16) and in runs that result in first downs (26).
