MONROE, La. – ULM sophomore forward
Janet Stopka was named the Sun Belt Conference's Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and adding an assist in Sunday's road match at Mississippi Valley State.
Stopka opened the scoring on Sunday with a goal in the 27th minute, with an assist to
Madi Garza. She added another goal in the 59th minute, with an assist by
Sara Navarro, to extend the lead to 2-0. Stopka then added an assist on
Taylor Henry's goal in the 69th minute as the Warhawks built a 3-0 lead.
Stopka now has 16 goals in her career to go with three assists. Her 16 goals ranks tied for fifth all-time at ULM, while her 35 career points rank ninth in program history. She scored a then-program record 10 goals as a first-year freshman in 2020-21 and added four more goals in an injury-shortened season as a second-year sophomore in 2021.
She is the second SBC Offensive Player of the Week for ULM this season after
Inge Konst won the honor on Aug. 22.
ULM visits Southern at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
