Monroe, La. -- The ULM volleyball team fell to first-placeTroy Saturday afternoon for the second straight day, 3-1 (25-17, 16-25, 25-17, 25-21), at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

In the first set, Troy (12-8 overall, 10-0 Sun Belt) jumped out to a 6-3 lead and used a 6-1 run to lead by seven. ULM (4-20, 0-10) scored four-straight points to close the gap. Then, leading 18-14, the Trojans went on a 6-2 scoring run and put the set away.

In set two, it was the Warhawks who started fast going up 6-3. They added a 5-1 run to increase the lead to five. Scoring runs of 6-1 and 5-2 gave ULM firm control of the set at 22-13. An attack error by the Trojans tied the match at one set each.

With Troy up 12-10 in set three, the Trojans took seven of the next 10 points to take a 19-13 lead. The Warhawks didn't get closer than five the rest of the way.

The two teams went back and forth in the fourth set. No team scored three-straight points until Troy, leading 18-16, won four straight points to lead 22-16. ULM tried to fight back with a 4-1 run late, but two kills by the Trojans ended the match.

Sophomore outside hitter
Brynn Botkin had a kill-dig double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs, which led the team in both categories. Another sophomore,
Bailey Roberson, led the Warhawks with 23 assists.

The Warhawks will head south to Lafayette to take on the Ragin' Cajuns twice. Game one takes place on Friday, October 27, at 6 p.m. They'll face off again Saturday, October 28, at 1 p.m.
