Warhawks Seek Fifth-Straight Win Tuesday vs. LCU

MONROE, La. - The ULM women's basketball team returns home to face off against Louisiana Christian at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
 
The Warhawks (4-1) swept their way through the McNeese Multi-Team Event over the weekend in Lake Charles, Louisiana. ULM defeated Milwaukee last Thursday, 73-67, Mississippi Valley State last Friday, 73-62, and McNeese last Saturday, 87-53.
 
Nunu Bradford leads the Warhawks with 20.8 points per game. She is second on the team in rebounds at 6.6 per game and leads the club in assists at 5.6 per game. She has reached double-figure points in each game, including a career-high 33-point effort last Thursday vs. Milwaukee.
 
Jakayla Johnson is second on the team at 15.6 points per game. She also is second in assists at 3.0 per game. Kyjai Miles leads the team in rebounds with 8.6 boards per game.
 
ULM's 2023-24 roster features eight returning players and eight newcomers, with all eight newcomers being transfers from NCAA Division I schools. Nunu Bradford (Clemson), Jakayla Johnson (Auburn) and Sania Wells (Auburn) all played for Power 5 schools, while Lauren Gross (Southern Miss), Brianna Harris (Troy), Dee Haymer (South Alabama) and Chardai Watkins (Southern Miss) all transferred from inside the Sun Belt Conference. Kyjai Miles transfers in from Central Arkansas. Four of the transfers, Bradford, Haymer, Johnson and Miles, all played for Missy Bilderback at Jones College. Returning player Olivia Knight also played for Bilderback at Jones.
 
GAME BASICS
The Warhawks and Wildcats meet for the 20th time in their series history on Tuesday night at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe. It is Bilderback's first time facing Louisiana Christian. Wildcats head coach Anna Philips will face off against ULM for the second time after an 88-58 loss last year.

The Warhawks have won four straight games, boosted by a four-game winning streak including a victory on Saturday vs. McNeese. The Wildcats are 1-0 after a 69-63 win over Dillard last Thursday. LCU is playing Tuesday's game as an exhibition.
