ULM women's basketball (6-1) returns to Fant-Ewing Coliseum and will face Champion Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The game is set for a noon tip-off. - The Warhawks earned a historic victory last time out with a 60-52 win at Louisiana Tech on Wednesday (Nov. 29) night in Ruston. The win marked the first time ULM women's basketball defeated Louisiana Tech since 2007. Daisha Bradford led the way with 26 points and nine boards in ULM's sixth-straight victory.
- As a team, ULM has compiled the highest assists per game mark (16.4 assists/game) and the top three-pointers per game (8.3 three-pointers/game) in the SBC.
- Bradford, a senior transfer guard from Clemson, was voted the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday (Dec. 4). She leads the Sun Belt Conference in scoring and has averaged 22.6 points per game. Bradford ranks second in the SBC with 5.3 assists per game and seventh with 8.1 rebounds per game.
- Auburn transfer Jakayla Johnson led all scorers in her ULM debut and poured in 34 points at Arkansas on Nov. 7. The Clinton, Miss., native has made 83.3 percent of her free throw attempts this season, which is the sixth-highest average in the SBC.
- Katlyn Manuel has appeared in all seven games and has posted a scoring average of 11.4 points per game. The junior from Lawtell, La., eclipsed the 20-point scoring mark versus Milwaukee and McNeese this season. Her 23 points versus Milwaukee was a career-high for the forward. Manuel has tallied a team-high eight blocks for ULM and has the fourth-highest blocks per game rate (1.14) in the conference.
- Kyjai Miles, a graduate transfer forward from Dallas, Texas, has pulled down an average of 7.7 rebounds per game, the eighth-highest mark in the SBC.
- Sania Wells and Lauren Gross have both recorded shooting percentages of 36.7% from beyond the arc in their first seven games. Wells, a graduate transfer from Auburn, has averaged 9.1 points per game. Wells posted double-figure scoring totals 25 times during her career at Auburn. Gross is a graduate transfer from Southern Miss and started in all 31 games for the Golden Eagles during the 2022-23 season.
- Troy graduate transfer Brianna Harris has made a trio of starts for the Warhawks and scored a season-high 14 points in the win at Louisiana Tech. Harris has racked up 20 rebounds in three appearances for ULM.
- Missy Bilderback is in her first season at the helm of ULM women's basketball. Bilderback was previously the head coach at Jones College in Ellisville, Miss., where she compiled seven consecutive 20-win seasons and seven-straight appearances in the NJCAA Division I Tournament. Bilderback launched her coaching career at Presbyterian Christian School in Hattiesburg, Miss., where she posted a 482-117 career record in 16 seasons.
Scouting Champion Christian
Champion Christian enters Tuesday's game with a 3-2 overall record. The Tigers captured the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Championship in 2021 and 2023.
Champion Christian has the top-scoring offense in the NCCAA and averages 85.0 points per game. Leading the scoring effort for CCC is Kamryn Gentry, who has posted a scoring average of 22.75 points per game. Alysia Pickett has distributed a team-high 3.60 assists per game.
DeAnthony Ellison begins his fifth season as the head women's basketball coach at Champion Christian. Ellison played college basketball at York College before playing in a semi-pro league in Australia.
