MONROE, La. – The ULM track and field teams have their final tune-up for the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships at the Samford Bulldog Open on Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Field events begin at 9 a.m. and track events follow at 10.
In women's field events,
Ainsley Hamsher and
Cameron Mount are each seeded in the top seven in the women's pole vault. Hamsher cleared 11-11 3/4 in her debut at the LSU Purple Tiger, while Mount cleared 10-8 at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
In the jumps, five jumpers are seeded inside the Top 9 in the long jump, with
Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi (20-2 1/2),
Olaia Becerril Alvarez (19-8 1/4),
Nasya Ramirez (19-2),
Khrystyan Reddic (18-10 1/4) and
Lisa Warfvinge (18-8 1/4) all set to compete for ULM. In the triple jump, Mbuyi is the top seed (43-5 3/4), while Warfvinge is third (40-9 1/2) and Reddic is eighth (38-9 3/4).
Claudine Raud-Gumiel is seeded fifth in the high jump (5-4 1/2).
On the track, Raud-Gumiel is seeded third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.74) and
Savanna Lawson is eighth (8.93).
Brittney Roberson is seeded third in the 400 (55.40) while
Stella Konstantinidou is sixth (57.61).
Kimone Campbell is the top seed in the 800 (2:08.98) and
Amanda Radava is fourth (2:16.12).
In the distance races,
Paula Vaquera Cervantes is the top seed in the mile run (5:00.00) while
Eliana Battle is third (5:08.20). Vaquera Cervantes is fourth in the 3000 (10:15.00) and Battle is sixth (10:31.42).
Jalynn Lozano is seeded eighth in the 5000 (19:00.00).
The ULM women's 4x400 relay is the top seed at 3:41.78 with
Brittney Roberson, Campbell, Konstantinidou and Radava slated to compete.
On the men's side,
Jakob Fudge is in the first flight in the men's weight throw and shot put. He has the third-best distance entering the meet in the weight throw at 59-2 and is sixth in the shot put at 50-10 1/2.
In the jumps,
Ali Eren Unlu is the top seed in the high jump (7-2 1/2) and
Jay Louison-Roe is the top seed in the triple jump (49-4 1/4).
Bailey Couch is seeded 10th in the long jump (22-1).
ULM has two entries seeded in the top five of the men's pole vault in
Cole Burgess, who has cleared 15-9 1/4, and
Dylan German, at 14-9.
On the track,
Darshon Turk is seeded second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.04) and
Devin Bilbo is sixth (8.17).
Jhavonte Perry enters at third in the 200 (21.06).
Jordan Hollis is seeded fourth in the 400 (47.69) while Joseph White is eighth (48.55).
Rojs Puks is fifth in the 3000 (8:38.89).
