RUSTON, La. – The ULM tennis team dropped Sunday's dual at Louisiana Tech, 6-1.
The Warhawks (1-6 overall) opened by taking the doubles point. After LA Tech's Olga Bienzobas and Ana Rodrigues won on court two, 6-3, over
Giovanna Pereira and
Tamara Bachmann, ULM answered on court one as
Alessandra Anghel and Angela del Campo Suarez defeated Leonie Schuknecht and Najah Dawson in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5). The Warhawks secured the point on court three as
Mackenzie King and
Alice Klinteby won an even tighter match, topping Ilana Tetruashvili and Valentina Vazquez, 7-6 (9-7).
LA Tech (6-1 overall) responded by winning all six singles matches. Bienzobas tied the dual at 1 with a win on court two over Klinteby, 6-2, 6-0. The Lady Techsters took the lead for good on court five when Rodrigues downed Bachmann, 6-1, 6-2. LA Tech started to pull away on court three, where Dawson won over del Campo Suarez, 6-2, 6-2. The Lady Techsters sealed the dual on court six as Tetruashvili won over
Mariam Hatem, 6-1, 7-5. LA Tech won the final two matches, with Schuknecht topping Anghel, 6-4, 7-5, on court one, and Nash knocking off Pereira on court four, 6-2, 6-3.
