THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls won the final three singles matches as the Colonels rallied for a 4-3 win over ULM Sunday at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
ULM (1-5) won the doubles point, sweeping all three matches. On court one,
Alessandra Anghel and
Alice Klinteby defeated Laura Lopez and Constanza Cruz, 6-2.
Oleksandra Balaba and Angela del Campo Suarez won on court two over Carla Bouygues and Dareen Hassan, 6-4.
Tamara Bachmann and
Giovanna Pereira completed the sweep on court three with a 6-4 win over Simona Maksimovic and Sophia Sara Safarova.
Nicholls (2-1) leveled the match at 1 when Bouygues won on court six in singles against
Mackenzie King, 6-2, 6-3. Pereira gave ULM the lead again on court five, defeating Lopez, 6-4, 6-2. Klinteby extended the lead to 3-1 on court three with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 win over Hassan.
The Colonels started the rally on court four, as Cruz topped del Campo Suarez, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Nicholls tied the match at 3 on court two as Safarova downed Balaba, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Nicholls won the match on court one as Maksimovic won in three sets over Anghel, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.
ULM returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Northwestern State.
