Warhawks Shut Out Grambling, 1-0

GRAMBLING, La. – Inge Konst scored on a penalty kick 49 seconds into the match for the only goal, as ULM closed non-conference play with a 1-0 win over Grambling at the GSU Soccer Complex Thursday evening.

A foul against Grambling's Khori Banks 49 seconds into the match set up Konst's penalty kick. It was Konst's fourth converted penalty kick of the season, giving her the ULM single season record and extending her career record with her seventh career penalty kick goal.

Banks tried to answer in the fifth minute for Grambling (2-4-3), but ULM (5-1-2) goalkeeper Mickaela Leal made the save.

The Warhawks had a pair of chances later in the first half on shots on goal by Mara Grutkamp, but Grambling keeper Madison Covey-Taylor made both saves in the 20th and 31st minutes.

The Tigers had another opportunity in the first half, but Beatriz Kretteis had her shot stopped by Leal in the 34th minute. Grambling did not register another shot on goal in the match.
