The Auburn transfer averaged 23.0 points per game in action last week.

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Jakayla Johnson was voted the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the association revealed on Monday (Jan. 29).

Last week, Johnson turned in a pair of double-digit scoring performances in a 2-0 weekend for the Warhawks. In Thursday night's 84-76 win versus Arkansas State, Johnson scored 15 points on a 5-for-9 shooting night and a trio of 3-pointers. She added six rebounds and three assists versus the Red Wolves. On Saturday, Johnson was an integral piece in ULM's comeback win over Coastal Carolina. Johnson finished with a game-high 31 points, which included eight points in the final 3:15 of game time. Johnson tied the game with 34 seconds to go with a three-point play. It marked the second time this season she scored above 30 points. Johnson collected five boards, four steals, one block and one assist versus the Chanticleers. Johnson helped ULM win its sixth-straight SBC game, which is the longest conference winning streak in program history since 2005.

Johnson and the ULM women's basketball team gears up for a highly anticipated conference matchup versus Troy on Thursday (Feb. 1) inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe.
