MONROE, La. – The ULM women's basketball team (15-7, 7-4 Sun Belt Conference) fell at home to the Ragin' Cajuns (9-11, 5-6) 73-52 on Saturday (Feb. 3) afternoon inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La.

The Ragin' Cajuns held ULM to a season-low point total and field goal percentage in Saturday's game. The Warhawks shot 29.2% from the floor on a 14-for-48 shooting day. The Ragin' Cajuns shot 53.1% from the field and made nine 3-pointers.

For the Warhawks,
Jakayla Johnson finished with 17 points and went 13-for-14 at the free throw line. Johnson added a pair of rebounds and assists as well as a block.
Daisha Bradford reached double figures for the 20
th time this season and poured in 15 points to go along with eight boards, five assists and two steals.
Lauren Gross and
Katlyn Manuel each scored six points while
Sania Wells added five.

A block by Johnson led to a fastbreak that finished with Bradford slipping a pass around the defender back to Johnson for a layup to cut the Ragin' Cajuns lead to 8-4. The Cajuns pushed the lead to nine with under four minutes in the opening quarter. Manuel ended a 5-0 run for the opposition with a turnaround jumper at the 2:59 mark. The Ragin' Cajuns closed out the final 2:30 of the quarter on a 10-4 run and led by 13 at the end of the first.

Bradford banked in a triple and Harris added a free throw to put ULM within seven early in the second quarter. The Ragin' Cajuns brought their lead back to 13 with 5:53 in the half after a 3-pointer by Jaylyn James. Bradford sank her second 3-point bucket of the period with 3:45 on the clock to pull ULM within eight. The Ragin' Cajuns finished the half on a 7-0 run and led 38-23 at the intermission.

The visitors continued to add to its lead at the start of the third quarter and led 48-23 with 6:37 in the period. Wells hustled down an offensive board and cut through the lane for a bucket and a foul that completed a 5-0 run for ULM. Bradford delivered her third 3-pointer of the day with 2:53 in the third. The Ragin' Cajuns maintained their lead above 20 points and led 56-34 at the end of three.

Aasia Sam hit the Cajuns' ninth 3-pointer of the afternoon to increase their advantage to 63-36 with 7:21 in the fourth. The Ragin' Cajuns led by as many as 28 in the fourth quarter. Johnson connected on a pair of free throws that brought the Cajuns' lead to 19 points with just over three minutes remaining. The Ragin' Cajuns earned the road victory and defeated ULM, 73-52.

The ULM women's basketball team starts a four-game road trip in Boone, N.C. on Wednesday (Feb. 7) at App State. The Warhawks and Mountaineers will battle at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT inside Holmes Convocation Center.
