MONROE, La. – The ULM women's soccer team (2-0) took the win over the Southern University Jaguars (0-2) 2-0 Sunday morning, continuing the Warhawks' unbeaten streak. The game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m., was moved up to 10:30 a.m. due to the blistering heat in Baton Rouge. At kickoff, the air temperature was 88 degrees, with the heat index at 101. By the end of the match, the air temperature increased to 94 degrees, putting the heat index at 111.

The first half started off slow, the Warhawks leading in shots 8-3. In the 16th minute,Â
Kai Douglas took the ball down to get it in the back of the net. This was Douglas' second goal of her career and on the season, and she has  scored in each of ULM's matches this season.

In the second half, the Warhawks maintained their lead in shots 4-0. In the 75th minute, ULM capitilized on a Jaguar foul that led toÂ
Bernadett Stefan logging her first ULM goal and fourth career goal.

Jennifer Handy and the Warhawks' defensive unit worked to earn the clean sheet, with Handy posting one save in the match. Handy has earned the start in goal for both of ULM's matches this season. SWAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year Sydney Bellamy had four saves vs. the Warhawks, allowing only two goals.
