ARLINGTON, Tx – The Ulm volleyball team dropped the final game of the UTA Classic 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-20) to the Mavericks on Saturday.
 
The first set was a showing of dominance for UTA. After an 11-7 start, the Mavericks produced an 8-2 scoring run to increase the lead to ten. They controlled the set for the rest of the way.
 
Set two started with the Warhawks in the lead as they jumped out to a 9-6 lead. UTA responded with an 8-1 run to take back control. With the score at 22-18 in favor of the Mavericks, the Warhawks scored three straight points to bring the game to one. A three-point run from UTA put the set away at the end.
 
In the third set, the Mavericks wasted no time, racing out to an 11-3 lead. They kept control of the set leading by as much as 22-12. The Warhawks attempted a final push with a 7-1 scoring run, but the deficit was too great and UTA secured the sweep.
 
Ariana Brown had a team-leading 14 kills with Hannah Redrow producing 9. Morgan Howard led in assists with 16 along with 9 digs. Cameron Rogers produced 10 digs.
 
ULM travels to New Orleans next week in the Green Wave Classic. It faces off with Grambling State on Friday, September 13 at 3 p.m.
