NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Blake Stevens,
Algirdas Strelciunas, and
J'Marcus Sewell all had top ten finishes on day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday.
Stevens placed tenth in the men's weight throw (open) with a result of 16.20, while
Joshua Qualls placed 17
th. Strelciunas produced a 7.59 mark in the men's long jump (seeded) good enough for fourth place.
Stafon Roach placed 13
th with a 7.04.
Oscar Prieto finished 11
th in the men's pole vault (invite) with a 4.86 score.
In the women's long jump (seeded),
Savanna Lawson placed 15
th, while
Nasya Ramirez came in 22
nd place.
Sydney Lake, with a mark of 15.15, placed 15
th in the women's weight throw (open).
Anna Naff and
Ansley Long finished in 21
st and 29
th place in the women's 5000m, and
Chase Gunn took 17
th place in the men's 5000m. Sewell finished in ninth place in the men's 200m with a time of 21.76, while
Imani Coleman placed 15
th with a 22.14 time.
