A scoring drought for the Warhawks helped Texas State to close the gap to single digits at the half, 38-29.
Â
A comeback was in play for the Bobcats in the third quarter, with the Texas State defense keeping the Warhawks from the basket and cutting the lead to five. A three-point play by Jaylin Foster and a triple gave Texas State the lead for the first time since the start of the contest. The Warhawks posted seven turnovers to fall behind, with the Bobcats going on a 13-2 run to close the third quarter, 50-48.
Â
The Warhawks were committed to battling back in the final 10 minutes, with Walker tying the game and Downs regaining the lead for ULM. The Warhawks opened the fourth quarter going on a 13-2 run to establish the lead again, with Walker and Downs taking charge of ULM's offense. While the Bobcats did not let up, ULM refused to back down, claiming the road win, 74-66.
