Lisa Ingram to Have Jersey Retired on Sunday

After the 1984-85 team get inducted into the ULM Hall of Fame on November 15, Ingram will be honored at Sunday’s women’s basketball game.

MONROE, La. – Lisa Ingram, a starter of the 1984-85 Final Four women's basketball team and All-American, will get her jersey retired on November 16, the ULM Athletics Department and ULM women's basketball team announced on Monday (Nov. 10).

Ingram is recognized as one of the starters on the 1984-85 ULM women's basketball team, the most successful basketball team in program history. She was named Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year in 1983, receiving all-conference honors in 1984, 1985 and 1986. The center also collected Southland Player of the Week a whopping 10 times across her collegiate career. She was named to the All-Louisiana team three times, earning Player of the Year accolades in 1986. Ingram was recognized with the Performance of the Year title in 1984, a nominee for Champion Player of the Year in 1985 and a finalist for the Naismith Award in 1986.

The All-American remains as the all-time career scorer and rebounder in Warhawk history, posting 2,601 points and 1,173 rebounds across four seasons. Ingram has posted some of the highest point totals in a single game, breaking the 50-point mark in 1984. She still holds the record for most field goals in a game (21). All four of her season point totals remain in the ULM Top 10. She claims the top four spots in season scoring average and field goals.

The 1984-85 women's basketball team posted a 30-2 record at the conclusion of their season, reaching the Final Four, the farthest any ULM basketball (men's or women's) team has advanced in the NCAA Tournament. They went 12-0 in the Southland Conference, with a final AP ranking of No. 2, the highest ranking for any Warhawk basketball team. The 1984-85 team still holds the team record for points (2,708) and field goals made (1,101) in a single season.

Lisa Ingram will be recognized and her jersey will be retired on Sunday, November 16 during the women's basketball game versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2 p.m.
