NEW ORLEANS – ULM Football picked up five all-conference selections, as announced by the Sun Belt Conference on Thursday (Dec. 4).
Noah Flemmings was awarded a selection to the All-SBC Third Team Defense, with four other ULM players earning All-SBC Honorable Mention.
Flemmings had a breakout season with the Warhawks, leading the ULM linebacker room. In recovering two fumbles, Flemmings ranks 12
th in FBS and second in the conference. He sits at 18
th across Sun Belt players with 80 total tackles, contributing to a team defense that ranks fifth in the conference. All 3.5 sacks came in conference play, placing Flemmings 10
th among SBC players. Flemmings saw a stunning stat line of 13 tackles, two tackles for loss and half a sack at Texas State. He also reached the endzone for the first time all season in a fumble recovery touchdown, rushing for 42 yards to secure the score against South Alabama.
Elijah Fisher earns his third career honor as All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention. He has remained steady in his six seasons as a Warhawk, this season trying his hand at center for the first time and finding success. Named to the Rimington Trophy Watchlist and recognized as the only Sun Belt center on the list, Fisher posted a 87.4 pass blocking grade and allowed three pressures on 242 pass blocking snaps. Fisher started in 11 of 12 games, also named to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watchlist and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Trophy Watchlist.
Zach Palmer-Smith has emerged throughout the season as one of ULM's top running backs to earn All-SBC Honorable Mention, tallying four touchdowns and averaging 6.4 yards per rush in conference games. Palmer-Smith sits at sixth in the Sun Belt with an average of 76.88 yards per game. Palmer-Smith recorded two 100-yard rushing performances this season, both against conference opponents in Southern Miss and the Ragin' Cajuns. He also broke free in the win over Arkansas State, rushing for a season-high of 56 yards to find the touchdown. The Richmond transfer also picked up seven receptions for 47 yards across Sun Belt games.
Kevontay Wells earned All-SBC Honorable Mention this season for his second All-Sun Belt recognition, contributing to a team defense that ranks fifth in the conference along with a rushing defense sitting at fifth. Wells continued reach heights in his second season at ULM, collecting 4.5 tackles for loss and four quarterback hurries, two coming against Arkansas State. The senior saw a season-high six tackles, along with half a TFL against Troy, collecting sacks at Texas State and against Arkansas State as well. All 2.5 sacks for Wells were in conference play, placing him 19
th among Sun Belt players.
Jaden Hamlin earned All-SBC Honorable Mention for the first time in a senior season that had him leading the defensive line and contributing to a defense that ranks fifth in the conference. The defensive tackle saw a season-high five tackles against South Alabama, also picking up three solo tackles against the Jaguars and again in Lafayette. Hamlin picked up half a sack against Troy and recovered a fumble against Old Dominion as well.
