The ULM men's basketball team (6-19, 2-10) returns home to Fant-Ewing Coliseum for a Thursday evening matchup against Texas State (12-13, 5-7). The Warhawks are looking to snap a two-game losing streak following two consecutive wins versus South Alabama..Â
A loss to Georgia State on Feb. 5 set ULM's conference record to 2-10. The Warhawks enter this week 13th in Sun Belt standings, leading Coastal Carolina by a single game and trailing 12th place Ragin' Cajuns by three games.
SERIES HISTORY –
The Warhawks lead the all-time series 33-32, but the Bobcats have won the last two contests and ten of the last 12 dating back to 2019. ULM swept Texas State in the 2022-2023 season, winning both games in Monroe and San Marcos.Â
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS –
Texas State has lost five in a row, including a road loss to Central Michigan in the SBC-MAC challenge this past weekend. With a 5-7 conference record, the Bobcats begin this week in a tie for ninth place with four other teams owning a 5-7 record.Â
Leading in scoring for the Bobcats is redshirt senior Tylan Pope, who averages 15.7 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. Tyrel Morgan also enters as a threat with 14.4 ppg.Â
RICHARD ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT AT CONCLUSION OF SEASON–
ULM men's basketball coach Keith Richard announced on Friday (Dec. 20) his intention to retire at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Richard will complete his 15th season as the head coach of ULM men's basketball. Richard inherited a program saddled with APR sanctions and guided the Warhawks to four postseason appearances in five years. Richard previously served as the head coach of Louisiana Tech from 1998-2007 and was an assistant at LSU from 2008-10 before being named ULM's head coach and has accumulated over 300 victories as a head coach.
YOUNG JOINS 1,000 POINT CLUB –
With his first 3-pointer of the game, Coltie Young reached the 1,000 career points mark and led the Warhawks with 19 points at Georgia State. Young played three seasons at Jackson State before transferring to ULM this season. He drained five 3-pointers and added a piar of assists and one steal last time out at GSU.

The Warhawks will complete their two-game homestand hosting Southern Miss on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.
