MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team (2-1) picked up another win at home, defeating the Alcorn State Lady Braves (3-7), in a 4-0 shutout on Friday afternoon (Feb. 14). The Warhawks remain undefeated at Heard Stadium, outscoring opponents 10-1.
The duo of Cado/Jorrin picked up 6-4 victory over the Braves, cementing the first doubles win. Alvaro/Molina went to seven with Mohamed/Villanueva, but came out victorious to claim the doubles point, 7-5.
With a forfeited match giving ULM the one-point edge, the Warhawks needed only two matches for the win.
Mariam Hatem claimed the win on Court 1 due to injury sidelining a Lady Brave.
Vanja Cado was the first to complete two sets, defeating Ozi-oiza Josephine Yakubu of Alcorn State, 6-1, 6-0.
The Warhawks will remain on the road to take on Louisiana Tech on Tuesday (Feb. 18). First serve in Ruston is scheduled for Noon.
