The ULM men's basketball team (7-20, 3-10) will play its second game in the span of six games versus Texas State (13-14) on Wednesday (Feb. 19) night in San Marcos, Texas. ULM is looking to

ULM defeated Southern Miss at home on Saturday, 81-74, and holds a two-game lead over Coastal Carolina in the Sun Belt Conference standings. The Warhawks currently sit two games behind Southern Miss and three games back from Georgia Southern, Texas State and the Ragin' Cajuns in the league standings.

SERIES HISTORY –

After the Bobcats' victory last Thursday, the all-time series is tied at 33-33. Texas State has won three-straight meetings versus the Warhawks and won 11 of the last 13 meetings. ULM last won in Strahan Arena on Dec. 29, 2022 57-53 in the season's conference opener.   

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS –

After defeating the Warhawks in Monroe, Texas State suffered an overtime loss in Mobile to South Alabama by a score of 70-65. Texas State has lost six of its last seven games. 

Franklinton, Louisiana native Tylan Pope had two 20-point games last week including an impressive 22-point performance in Monroe on Thursday night. He eclipsed 20 points or more in nine games this season, including three of the last four games.

RICHARD ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT AT CONCLUSION OF SEASON–

ULM men's basketball coach Keith Richard announced on Friday (Dec. 20) his intention to retire at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Richard will complete his 15th season as the head coach of ULM men's basketball. Richard inherited a program saddled with APR sanctions and guided the Warhawks to four postseason appearances in five years. Richard previously served as the head coach of Louisiana Tech from 1998-2007 and was an assistant at LSU from 2008-10 before being named ULM's head coach and has accumulated over 300 victories as a head coach.

YOUNG JOINS 1,000 POINT CLUB –

With his first 3-pointer of the game, Coltie Young reached the 1,000 career points mark and led the Warhawks with 19 points at Georgia State. Young played three seasons at Jackson State before transferring to ULM this season. He drained five 3-pointers and added a piar of assists and one steal last time out at GSU.

LOOKING AHEAD –

The Warhawks will play its final road game of the regular season at Arkansas State on Saturday (Feb. 22) in Jonesboro.
