LAFAYETTE, La. – The ULM tennis team (3-6, 0-3 Sun Belt) fell 1-4, in their matchup against the Ragin' Cajuns (8-4, 1-2) on Sunday morning (March 16) in Lafayette. The Cajuns secured an early lead, clinching the doubles point for the 1-0 lead. In singles action, the Warhawks fought hard, but the Ragin' Cajuns closed out three singles matches for the win.
 
Dynamic duo, Cado/Hatem took the first win on court one, defeating Berrat/Prulla in a close 7-5 match. However, the Cajuns battled back and took over the next two matches, making it a 2-1 lead over the Warhawks. 
 
In singles, Mariam Hatem fell to Angelique Berrat in straight sets. However, Vanja Cado took an early victory 5-0 in the first set on court two, forcing Rocio Amoros Navarro to retire. The victory was short lived for ULM, however, as Mariia Iordanova lost her matchup against Nina Krecklenberg. Enna Krnjic also came up short against Ivana Castillo Hurtado to round out the Cajun wins, making it a 4-1 score and leaving two courts unfinished. 
 
ULM Tennis will be back at home next week, taking on Georgia Southern on Friday (March 21) at 10 a.m. to attempt to clinch a conference win.
