ULM Tennis Falls at Home to Georgia Southern

The Warhawks look to fight back on Sunday in another home match.

MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team (3-7, 0-4 Sun Belt) dropped their matchup against the Georgia Southern Eagles (9-5, 1-2) on Friday morning (March 21) at Heard Stadium. The Eagles secured an early lead, clinching the doubles point for the 1-0 lead. In singles action, the Warhawks fought hard, but Georgia Southern closed out three singles matches for the win, 4-0.
 
Duo Cado/Hatem fought hard and kept it close, but the Eagles clinched the match, 6-4. Alvaro/Li also fell in doubles, securing the point for the Eagles and leaving Molina/Krnjic unfinished on court three.
 
In singles, Mariam Hatem fell to Lisen Rinman in straight sets on court one. Raquel Alvaro and Mariia Iordanova were both taken in two sets as well, clinching the 4-0 win for Georgia Southern. After falling in the first set, Tingyi Li tied it up in the second set before the court was left unfinished. Vanja Cado was also holding on in set two after falling in the first. Camila Molina Barranco was also looking to claim her match, splitting sets one and two with Mackenzie Leopold.
 
ULM Tennis will be back at home on Sunday, taking on Coastal Carolina on Sunday (March 23) at 10 a.m. to attempt to clinch a conference win.
