FAYETEVILLE, Ark. -- The ULM baseball team completed its first road trip of the 2025 season and fell twice to No. 3 Arkansas at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark.
Game One: No. 3 Arkansas 14, ULM 1 (7 inn.)
ULM's
Colby Lunsford led off the game with a single back to the pitcher and stole second base with one out. The Razorbacks recorded the final two outs of the inning to keep ULM off the scoreboard. Arkansas' Brent Iredale drove home the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly that scored Charles Davalan in the first. Cam Kozeal increased the Razorbacks' lead to two in the bottom of the second inning and Kuhio Aloy drove in Wehiwa Aloy with an RBI hit in the third and Arkansas led 3-0 after three innings.
Henry Garcia Jr. singled with two outs in the fourth before being picked off for the third out of the inning. Arkansas hung six runs in the fourth inning from a balk, a Kuhio Aloy two-RBI base hit and a two-run home run by Iredale and pushed the lead to 9-0 in through four innings. After a scoreless fifth inning, Lunsford singled to center field for his second hit of the afternoon and
Isaiah Walker followed with a hit up the middle. Arkansas held ULM scoreless after getting a double play and a strikeout. Kozeal drove in another RBI with a base hit and the Razorbacks led 10-0 through six innings.
Michelle Artzberger singled and moved to second with two outs in the top of the seventh. With ULM facing its last strike,
Marcus Aranda hit a double to center field that scored Artzberger and the Warhawks prevented the spread. Arkansas placed runners at second and third with no outs before the game was suspended to Wednesday at 2 p.m. Kuhio Aloy ended the game with a grand slam on Wednesday and completed the spread with a 14-1 win.
Game Two: No. 3 Arkansas 15, ULM 3 (7 inn.)
After a 1-2-3 top of the first inning, Arkansas plated the game's first run on a wild pitch. With one runner on
Jacob Billings launched his first home run in a Warhawk uniform over the left field fence and scored Garcia Jr. and ULM led 2-1 in the middle of the second inning. Wehiwa Aloy doubled home Davalan to even the score, 2-2 and Kuhio Aloy singled home Wehiwa to make it a 3-2 lead for Arkansas. ULM answered in the top of the third when Walker drove home Lunsford on an RBI base hit with two outs. Arkansas surged back in the lead with a Davalan grand slam to put the Razorbacks in front, 7-3 through three.
Arkansas right fielder Kendall Diggs crushed a solo home run to right field and padded the Hogs' lead to 8-3. The Aloy tandem contributed four more runs to Arkansas' total in the bottom of the fifth after Wehiwa hit an RBI double and Kuhio launched a three-run homer to left center and Arkansas led 12-3 after five innings. Nolan Souza sealed the victory for Arkansas with the Razorbacks' fourth home run of the afternoon on a three-run dinger to complete the midweek series sweep.
ULM returns to Lou St. Amant Field on Friday to start a three-game weekend series versus UT Arlington. Friday's game is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday's game is set for 2 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
