MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team (3-13) dropped their match to UTEP (8-7) at Heard Stadium on Friday afternoon (April 11). After claiming the doubles point and a forfeited singles match, UTEP picked up two singles wins to win, 4-0.
DeCora Antoine and Hanna Telzynska claimed the 6-3 win over
Mariam Hatem and
Mariia Iordanova on the first court, with Vale Carreno Torres and Carlotta Mencaglia capturing the 6-3 win on court two over
Raquel Alvaro and
Tingyi Li. After claiming the doubles point, court three went unfinished.
On court six, a point was clinched for the Miners through a forfeit, leaving only two more points left for UTEP to clinch the win. Paloma Hennicaux defeated
Mariia Iordanova in straight sets and Vale Carreno Torres defeated
Enna Krnjic in two sets for the final two points, completing the match, 4-0.
Camila Molina Barranco won the first set against Hanna Telzynska and was leading in the second set when the court was left unfinished.
The Warhawks will conclude home court play on Saturday (April 12) at 11 a.m. against South Alabama at Heard Stadium.
