HARRISONBURG, Va. – Carlo Martinez-Jaramillo ended day one of the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships with the first podium finish for the ULM outdoor track and field team, taking third in the 10000m race on Thursday.

Martinez-Jaramillo finished with a time of 30:20.55 in his first 10000m competition of the 2025 season.

For the women, Katerina Natsiopoulou and
Mikayla Douglas both advanced to the 400m hurdles finals on Saturday, placing second and fifth in the preliminary event, respectively.
Savanna Lawson finished day one of the heptathlon competition in second place with a score of 3142.
Lilly Schuster also advanced to the 1500m finals on Saturday with a tenth-place finish.

For the men in the prelims,
Juwan Blignaut and
Matthew Malcolm qualified for the 1500m and 400m hurdles finals in their respective events, with both placing fourth.
Benedikt Schweizer also just missed a podium finish in the hammer throw, finishing fourth with a personal best mark of 59.44m.
