Roach Earns Sun Belt Men's Field Athlete of the Week Honors

The Junior earned a 15.86m mark and took first place in the triple jump in last weekend's meet.

NEW ORLEANS – Junior Stafon Roach has been named Sun Belt Men's Field Athlete of the Week as voted on by the conference's coaches and communications directors.

It's the second week in a row that a Warhawk has earned the honor, with Gionni Wiltz claiming it last week. Roach was also named Men's Field Athlete of the Week in 2025.

The native of Georgetown, Guyana, led the Warhawks at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge last weekend with a first-place finish in the triple jump. He reached a season-high 15.86m mark in the event.

The result from Saturday is the highest mark in the Sun Belt in 2026 in the event. It is also the sixth-highest mark on the South Central Region performance list and 28th on the NCAA Division I list.

Roach and the Warhawks are back in action next week from Monday, Feb. 23, through Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
