MONROE, La. – Nine ULM track and field athletes were named to the LWSA All-Louisiana Track & Field teams on Monday afternoon (July 6), which is earned by being one of the top three results in the state in a specific event.
Matthew Malcolm was named All-Louisiana for the second-straight season, reaching the second-best time in the 400m hurdles in Louisiana (50.48).
Mario Santin was just behind him, a 51.12 in the 400m hurdles earnign him the honors. Freshman
Gionni Wiltz posted a 7-1 at the LSU Alumni Gold to reach the third-best state result in the high jump. A sweep of the triple jump had
Stafon Roach as the state leader for a second year (51-4.25), as
DeMarko Lawler recorded the next best result (50-0.75) and
Nathan Wade was close behind (49-7.75).
Freshman and NCAA Championship competitor
Francisco Calhau led the state in the hammer with a 217-11 recorded.
Benedikt Schweizer followed that with a 217-5.
Sydney Lake was also the state leader in the hammer, a 199-11 getting her to the top of the leaderboard.
