ULM track and field returns after a week off with a two-meet weekend featuring the UAB Green and Gold Invite on Friday, Feb. 6, in Birmingham and the Wooo Pig Classic on Saturday, Feb. 7, in Fayetteville, Ark.

Alongside the host school, UAB, will be McNeese from in-state and Southern Miss from the Sun Belt on Friday. The Wooo Pig Classic will feature in-state foes including Louisiana Tech, Grambling State and Northwestern State.

MEET SCHEDULE –
The schedule for Birmingham's meet starts at 9 a.m. with the shot-put events followed by the men's long jump, women's long jump, pole vault, and high jump at 10 a.m. At 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. are the women's and men's weight throws. The afternoon jumping events occur with both triple jumps and the men's pole vault at 2:30 p.m. and the men's high jump at 3:30 p.m.

For the running events, things kick off at Noon with the 60m and 60m hurdle prelims, with the finals for both events scheduled for 2:45 p.m. At 1:15 p.m. is the mile race, followed by the 400m at 2 p.m. The 800m begins at 3 p.m., followed by the 200m, 3000m, and the finale 4x400m relays at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday,
Alyssa Dyett will start things off with the women's long jump at 11 a.m., with her triple jump event taking place at 3 p.m.
Nathan Wade takes on the men's long jump at 1 p.m., followed by
Miller Malley in the pole vault at 3 p.m.
Gionni Wiltz and
Ali Eren Unlu compete in the high jump at 3:30 p.m., while the duo of
Stafon Roach and
DeMarko Lawler perform the triple jump at 4 p.m.

ROACH'S TRIPLE –
Junior
Stafon Roach returns to the triple jump events for ULM in 2026, bearing the All-American title from the year prior. Last weekend in the event, Roach secured first place with a mark of 15.31m. At the LSU Purple Tiger, he produced a 15.63m result, which ranks as the top mark in the Sun Belt Conference and fourth on the NCAA South Central Region performance list.

RESOUNDING RELAY –
The Warhawks started 2026 with a statement in the 4x400m relay to end the LSU Purple Tiger. The team of
Imani Coleman,
J'Marcus Sewell,
Matthew Malcolm, and
Mario Santin took first place with a time of 3:17.72, beating out Sun Belt rival Ragin' Cajuns by a narrow .24 seconds.

3000M CHAMPS –
The Warhawks collected a sweep of the 3000m at the LSU Bayou Bengal in both events. For the men, Joshua Gill led the way with a first-place finish, followed closely behind by
Chase Gunn in second,
River Richard in third, and
Silas Christie in fourth. For the women, the trio of
Tuva Sandberg,
Anna Naff, and
Rebekka Flotho swept the podium with
Lenja Wiechers rounding out the top five.

WEIGHT THROW –
The ULM weight throwers continued a strong start to the 2026 season at the LSU Bayou Bengal.
Sydney Lake again reached the podium in the women's event, posting a season-best 16.68m mark, good for 18
th best in the NCAA South Central Region performance list.
Benedikt Schweizer collected another second-place finish with a result of 19.66m, giving him a new personal best. His result gives him the seventh-place spot in the men's NCAA South Central Region performance list. Francisco Calhau joined him at the podium with a third-place result, producing a mark of 18.99m, which is good for tenth best on the list.

GIONNI JUMPS –
Freshman
Gionni Wiltz had an impressive showing last time out, collecting two second place finishes in both the long jump (7.10m) and high jump (2.14m). His 7.38m performance at the LSU Purple Tiger ranks 12
th on the performance list while his recent high jump mark is tied for seventh best. He starts the 2026 season with two straight podium finishes in the long jump.
