ARLINGTON, Texas – An offensive assault from ULM baseball (9-9) resulted in a game three victory over UT Arlington (5-10) Sunday afternoon.

The Warhawks produced 12 total hits on the day, with the bottom three of the batting order producing multi-hit performances. The away team also hit three home runs.

The first three innings of the contest featured a pitcher's duel, with the only production from both offenses being one hit each.
JC Dermody pitched a three- up, three-down frame at the top of the first and allowed just two baserunners in the next two innings.

At the top of the fourth, after a
Bryce Blaser walk,
Jake Haggard powered his fourth home run of the season into left field to put the Warhawks up 2-0.
Marcus Aranda and
Jackson Landry both produced singles to get on base before
Garrett Wiethorn also went deep into left field, marking his first of the year and adding three more runs to make the ULM lead five.

Blaser and Haggard again got on base with a walk and a fielding error in the next frame.
Zach White followed that up with an RBI-single to make the score 6-0. UTA produced a single in the bottom frame, but Dermody produced three more outs to get through five scoreless.

The home team plated its first run at the bottom of the sixth with a two-out double to left center. A strikeout from Dermody kept the Warhawk lead at five runs after six. After a 1-2-3 inning for ULM at the top of the seventh, another two-out double for the Mavericks made the score 6-2 in favor of the Warhawks.

Aranda was able to get to third base with an error and two wild pitches to start the top of the eighth. With a White walk putting two runners on, Landry drilled abases clearing triple into right field to make it 8-2 Warhawks. After Wiethorn collected a hit and stole second,
Kade Dupont produced a two-RBI double as ULM reached double digits. A
Dayne Wray sacrifice-fly capped of the inning and resulted in an 11-2 lead.

The Mavericks put two base runners in the bottom frame, but no runs came home to keep the margin at nine. Wiethorn lined another ball to deep left field for his second homer of the day, putting ULM up by ten runs. A scoreless bottom of the ninth ended the game and snapped a four-game losing streak.

Wiethorn, with his pair of home runs, led the team with four RBI, while Dupont, Landry and Haggard also had multi-RBI performances.
Davis Mauzy collected a hit in the contest, extending his hitting streak to 18 games.

The Warhawks will enter Sun Belt play next weekend as they will host Texas State at Lou St. Amant Field. Â
