MONROE, La. – Three runs allowed at the top of the 13
th inning resulted in a 10-7 loss for ULM baseball (17-14, 6-4 Sun Belt) against Georgia State (14-17, 3-7 Sun Belt) Thursday night.

The Panthers struck first at the top of the first inning with four runs scored off of four hits and an error. The away team was able to produce three infield hits in a small-ball effort.
Micah Dean represented the first base runner for the Warhawks by hitting a single into right.

With two outs,
Marcus Aranda launched a two-run homer to cut the deficit in half, marking his second in as many games and his sixth of the season. The score read 4-2 at the end of the first in favor of GSU.

After a scoreless top of the second, a
Kade Dupont walk put a runner on base before a
Garrett Wiethorn double down the left field line allowed the runner to score, cutting the margin to one run.
Dayne Wray singled through the right side at the bottom of the third to tie the game, making it 4-4 at the end of three.

Adam Brodnax pitched his third consecutive scoreless frame in the fourth, collecting two strikeouts in the process. A 370-foot
Micah Dean homer to left field put ULM in front by one.
Jake Haggard walked, and Aranda singled to bring up
Davis Mauzy with two on and two out. The center fielder lined a ball to right center, bringing another run home and giving the Warhawks a 6-4 lead.

Sam Silas answered for the Panthers with a solo home run to left field, cutting the home team's lead to one. With a runner at second base, a single up the middle scored a second run for Georgia State in the inning, tying the game at 6-6.

The tied score held until the bottom of the seventh, as the Warhawks created a scoring opportunity with two free passes and a Wray double, loading the bases. A wild pitch over the plate allowed Dupont to score from third, giving the home team a 7-6 lead. The Panthers answered in the next frame with a single to right center, tying the game once again.

Both teams remained scoreless through the bottom of the ninth, with a Wray base hit being the only offensive production. ULM entered its first extra-innings game of the season.

Georgia State put on two base runners at the top of the tenth, but a fly out ended the threat and kept the score at 7-7. The Warhawks went three-up, three-down to end the inning. Both teams were blanked in the next two innings as the score remained tied.

GSU broke the deadlock at the top of the 13
th inning with a single in the right side of the infield, making it 8-7. The away team added two more with a double into left field, bringing the Panthers to double-digit runs. ULM could not answer, ending the game with a 10-7 score.

The Warhawks are back tomorrow against the Panthers at Lou St. Amant Field with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
