NEW ORLEANS – ULM women's golfer
Johanna Sjursen was voted Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, as selected by the league's head coaches and communications directors.
Johanna Sjursen led the team, shooting eight-under in the first round to sit at a 205 (-11) overall. The Warhawks, led by the senior, collected their fourth first-place finish of the season with a 14-stroke lead. Sjursen claimed a runner-up finish with a tournament-leading 19 birdies over 54 holes.
Sjursen becomes the second ULM women's golfer to be named Player of the Week this season, the first being
Tessa Ion in the fall. This is Sjursen's first Golfer of the Week recognition.
Sjursen and the ULM women's golf team will travel to College Station, Texas to conclude the spring season, competing in "Mo" Morial Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Texas A&M, begins on April 6, as the last tournament before the Sun Belt Tournament.
