MONROE, La. – The ULM women's golf team recorded its fourth first-place finish of the season in the ULM Invitational at Bayou Desiard Country Club, two Warhawks placing in the top three. With a team score of 856 (-8), ULM remained the lone team under par to cruise on a 14-stroke lead to victory.
Johanna Sjursen led the team, shooting eight-under in the first round to sit at a -11 overall. Sjursen claimed a runner-up finish with a tournament-leading 19 birdies over 54 holes.
Anna Andrysova tied for third place of 82 participants with a -9 score, tying with LSU's Ryleigh Knaub, who is ranked 85th nationally. Andrysova finished one-under in both rounds one and two, but a seven-under final round placed the senior in the top three.Â
Daniela Campillo (+7) logged a birdie in the first round, shooting an even-par third round on her way to a 20th-place finish.
Emma Manzini completed her third round one-under, shooting a +13 overall in the tournament.
Zoe McLean-Tattan (+14) rounded out the team scores, finishing 45th on the leaderboard. Individuals
Isabel Mas Pitarch and
Tessa Ion both finished +8 on the week, Ion scoring a -1 in the final round.Â
Samford's Gabi Nicastro (-13) claimed the individual title, shooting 10-under in the third round to capture the title. Samford claimed second on the team leaderboard (+6), while Houston Christian (+11) completed the top three.
The Warhawks will be back in action on April 6, competing in the "Mo" Morial Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M.
