Sjursen Named Golfer of the Year, Pollock Named Coach of the Year in Sun Belt Postseason Honors

Three Warhawks earned All-Sun Belt recognition as well.

MONROE, La. — Johanna Sjursen was named the Sun Belt Golfer of the Year, while head coach Rachel Pollock was honored as the Sun Belt Coach of the Year, as announced by the Sun Belt Conference on June 2. Sjursen, along with Anna Andrysova and Daniela Campillo, were also recognized on the all-conference teams.

Sjursen was also named to the All-Sun Belt First Team, her first all-conference recognition. Senior Anna Andrysova earned position on the All-Sun Belt second team, her third all-conference recognition. Andrysova recorded two top 10 finishes this season, with a stroke average 73.9. Daniela Campillo logged her third-straight recognition as all-conference, named on the third team this season. Campillo registered a stroke average of 73.8, with three top 5 finishes under her belt, including a second-place finish at the Sun Belt Championships.

"Placing three players on the All-Sun Belt is just a testament to the hard work that Johanna, Anna and Daniela have put in, not only this year, but throughout their time at ULM," said head coach Rachel Pollock. "I am so happy and proud for them to have earned this honor!"

Sjursen had a standout senior year, with 36 rounds under her belt and a stroke average of 73.3 to help her team to a second Sun Belt title in four years. She recorded four top 5 finishes this season, five top 10 finishes and an individual victory. The victory came in the "Mo" Morial Invitational, where the senior finished +1 for the win, defeating 15 ranked players. Sjursen's stellar season has been recognized by the Sun Belt two times, with back-to-back Sun Belt Golfer of the Week honors on April 2 and 10. In the postseason, the Goteborg, Sweden native finished third in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, becoming the first ULM Warhawk to play in the NCAA National Championships. Sjursen now looks ahead at her professional career, qualifying for the U.S. Open at the Piedmont Driving Club this spring.

"This is an incredible honor for Johanna," said Pollock. "She pours herself into getting better every single day. She is the definition of somebody who trusted the process and let the results come to her. I am so happy for her in earning this honor as she turns professional this week. It's a great way to cap off her college career."

In her fifth season at the helm for the Warhawks, head coach Rachel Pollock continues to elevate the ULM women's golf program to new heights. The team claimed its second Sun Belt Championship in four years, reaching the NCAA Regionals for the second time in program history. Pollock led the 2025-26 Warhawks to five first-place finishes, including a stroke play Sun Belt victory, leading to two dominant match play wins for the Sun Belt title. As a team, the Warhawks recorded a three-round average of 294.08, opening the season with a win over Kansas in the Jayhawk Invitational. Another fall victory in the Lady Red Wolves Invitational brought up the match play victory in the Great River Cup, before the Warhawks finished eight-under in the ULM Invitational. The team also found themselves with a head-to-head record of 73-55-4 this season. At present, ULM is ranked 62nd in the Scoreboard by Clipp'd rankings, the highest ranking in program history.

"This honor is truly a representation of our entire program, from all of our players, our assistant coach, Olivia Schmidt and all of our support staff," said Pollock. "Earning this honor doesn't happen without all of their hard work, buying into our vision and trusting in what we are building here at ULM. I'm so proud of our team and all of their efforts and dedication this year."
