Six Warhawks Named on Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt teams

ULM Football will open the season on the road against Mississippi State on September 5.

MONROE, La. — Six ULM football players were named to the 2026 Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt teams, the publication announced. Two Warhawks (AJ Vinson – OT; Noah Flemmings – LB) were named to the first team, one (Nic Trujillo – WR) was named to the second team, two (Jabari Tiller – S; Abram Murray – K) were listed on the third team and one (Don Chaney – RB) was listed on the fourth team.

A starter for all 12 games in 2025, AJ Vinson returns for his senior season as one of the strong offensive tackles on the line for ULM. The Social Circle, Georgia native contributed to an offensive line that racked up 3,882 yards of total offense last season after transferring from Garden City CC.

Noah Flemmings also makes the return for the defense, after being recognized at the end of last season on the All-Sun Belt Third Team. Flemmings made 10 starts and led the team with 80 tackles, ranking 14th in FBS with two fumble recoveries. The linebacker reached a career-high 13 tackles at Texas State last season, also snagging two TFLs.

Returning for his redshirt junior season, Nic Trujillo saw action in eight games in 2025, returning in the second half of the season from injury. The New Mexico transfer totaled 368 receiving yards and four touchdowns from 23 catches last season. His first reception of the season was a 34-yard touchdown at Northwestern, capping off the season with a career-high 133 yards at the Ragin' Cajuns.

Jabari Tiller returns for his second season at ULM, after appearing in 11 games at safety for the Warhawks last season. Tiller collected 45 tackles, seven TFLs and two sacks in his junior season. He posted a season-high 10 tackles against South Alabama, leading the team.

Newcomer Abram Murray joins the Warhawk special teams room, arriving in Monroe from California. The kicker saw action in eight games in 2025, making four-of-six field goal attempts. His season-long 49-yard attempts was at Oregon State, also logging 14 touchbacks on 41 kickoff attempts.

Don Chaney rounds out the list, arriving on the scene as one of ULM's newest running backs. Chaney saw time at Louisville and Miami, totaling 1,030 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in his career.

ULM will open the season on the road, facing Mississippi State at 6:30 p.m. on September 5. The home opener at Malone Stadium will be on September 19, as the Warhawks will take on Southeastern Louisiana at 6 p.m. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.tickets.ulmwarhawks.com.
