MONROE, La. – Tuva Sandberg was recognized by the Sun Belt Conference, named conference women's cross country runner of the week after a stellar showing at the Southern Showcase last weekend.Â
The second-year Warhawk ran a 17:37.3 in the 5k invite, placing 36th in the meet. The time was Sandberg's personal best, placing 20th in the NCAA South Central Region this season. Her time is the second-fastest time recorded by a Sun Belt women's runner in 2026.
This is the first Sun Belt Cross Country Runner of the Week honor the Warhawks have received this season, having not earned the honor since 2024. A ULM female runner has not earned the recognition since 2023.
The Warhawks will continue their season by hosting the Warhawk Invite on September 25, competing in Sterlington, Louisiana.
