Originally from Chandler, AZ., Michael Gammon enters his first year at the University of Louisiana Monroe as the Director of Baseball Operations. In this role, he is responsible for team travel, assisting in camps and other operations for the Warhawk baseball program. Gammon is also a Graduate Assistant for the Warhawk Athletics marketing department, assisting with game day operations, graphics, promotions and other marketing activities.
Gammon started his college baseball career at South Mountain CC in Phoenix, AZ. After having Tommy John surgery his freshman year, he pitched one year for the Cougars as a redshirt freshman. Following the 2014 season, Gammon transferred to Chandler-Gilbert CC in Chandler, AZ. In his one year at Chandler-Gilbert, Gammon was both backup catcher and the closer for the Coyotes.
He graduated from Chandler-Gilbert with an Associates of Arts with high honors and an Associates of Business.
In 2015, he then went on to play at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Following another arm injury, he was asked to join the coaching staff as a student assistant coach for the Aggies. Gammon joined the Aggies coaching staff as the bullpen coach and also the Diamond Club Coordinator. He took on many responsibilities including pitching stats, assisting with team travel, organizing the annual golf tournament and game day facility preparation.
He graduated from NMSU in May, 2017 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a GPA of 3.44. As a ULM graduate student, Gammon is working towards a Masters of Science in Sports Management.
