Gardner came on board in 2017 as the Assistant Director of Baseball/Football Strength and Conditioning. During his time here, Gardner became the Director of Basketball Strength and Conditioning and Indoor & Beach Volleyball Strength and Conditioning and held these roles until 2019 when he moved into the Director of Baseball Strength and Conditioning Coach position, as role he continues today.

He is now the Director of Baseball and Basketball Strength and Conditioning and Assistant Director of Football Strength and Conditioning.

Gardner graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology in 2005, Gardner got his Masters of Science in Sports Management/Exercise Science at ULM in 2018.

After graduated from USA, Gardner went on to LSU as the Intern Strength Coach for Football, Baseball and Basketball as well as Asst. Strength Coach at Gayle Hatch Weightlifting in Baton Rouge. From 2003 he was Director of Speed and Strength at Encore Rehabilitation in Daphne, AL, Head Middle School Coach for Football, Baseball and Basketball as well as the Asst. Strength Coach for Varsity Football at Dunham School and Head Strength Coach and Weightlifting Coach at Central Community School System. Gardner then moved on to be Defensive Coordinator and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Central Private School in Baton Rouge before moving to Monroe
