Played two seasons for Sam Temple at Hinds Community College... Part of Eagles' squad that finished runner-up at the 2014 JUCO World Series... Team also claimed the state championship in 2015... Saw action in 13 games in 2015 and notched one win and one save... Posted a 1.54 ERA with eight stikeouts in 11.2 innings of work... Did not surrender an earned run in 11 of 13 appearances in 2015... Appeared in 10 total games as a rookie and finished with a 1-0 record behind a 2.70 ERA and seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings on the hill... An Academic All-State honoree while at Hinds.

Played baseball for Todd Montgomery at Central Hinds Academy... Posted a 16-6 career record and a 2.91 ERA... Finished with an 8-3 mark as a senior... Struck out 75 and notched a 1.86 ERA in 64.0 innings of work... Hold single-season school records for wins (eight) and innings pitched (64.0)... Was named All-District, District MVP, All-State and was selected to the All-Star team following senior season... Squad claimed the District Championship in 2013... Also earned All-District honors as a junior... Was the school's Honor Society President and named to Headmaster's List every year at Central Hinds.

Father played collegiate baseball at Hinds CC and Southern Miss... Was a 13th round selection by the Chicago White Sox in the 1996 MLB First-Year Player Draft and spent 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, playing with the Chicago White Sox (1998-00), Oakland Athletics (2001-2004), Boston Red Sox (2005), New York Mets (2006), Baltimore Orioles (2007-08) and Tampa Bay Rays (2008-09)... Enjoys deer hunting... A kinesiology major.
