Finished the season second on the team in innings pitched (60), first in strikeouts (64), first in wins (6) and posted a 4.78 ERA ... Made her first appearance of the season vs. Eastern Illinois (2/24/21) where she pitched four innings, allowing two earned runs and recorded two strike outs... Tossed five innings, allowed zero runs, had eight strikeouts and got her first win of the season vs. Grambling State (3/10/21) ... Played a key role in a win vs. Coastal Carolina (3/13/21) where she pitched three innings in relief only allowing one earned run... Did not allow a run over two innings vs UT Arlington (4/3/21) ... Fired 5 1/3 innings only allowing two earned runs, got the win and recorded a season high 11 strikeouts in a dominating performance at Jackson State (4/15/21) ... Pitched four innings in relief at Grambling State (4/27/21), allowed zero runs, struck out nine and recorded the win ... Made a relief appearance where she tossed 5 1/3 innings, did not allow a run and struck out four vs Georgia State (5/1/21) ... Played a huge role in relief vs UL Lafayette (5/8/21) where she pitched 3 2/3 innings, only allowing one hit, zero runs and earned the win ... Got her final win of the season pitching two innings in relief in the Sun Belt Conference Championship vs Coastal Carolina (5/10/21) ... Made her final appearance of the season at Troy (5/13/21) where she had a season high six innings pitched, allowed three earned runs and struck out five.
2020 (JUNIOR \ ULM): Finished off her first season at ULM by posting the lowest ERA (2.76) of any pitcher on the staff … logged the second-most innings (45.2) on the unit … finished with 24 K’s, second only to Murphy Williams’ 24 … limited opposing hitters to just 20 extra-base hits … made her ULM debut in a start against Southern (Feb. 7) where she allowed one run on seven hits while striking out five batters in five innings in the mound, earning the victory … returned to the mound in a relief appearance against Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 8), tossing three innings where she surrendered five runs on four hits … capped off her second start of the season with a win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 14) as she worked a complete game six-hitter, allowing four runs and striking out three batters along the way … came off the bench to face UAB (Feb. 15) and worked 3.2 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on nine hits … suffered her first setback of the season in her third start, which came against South Dakota State (Feb. 16) as she managed just 0.2 innings and allowing two runs on three hits … moved her record to 3-1 on the slate with a dominating performance against Incarnate Word (Feb. 22) where she allowed just one hit and two walks in five innings … made a relief appearance against Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 23), but did not earn a decision … improved to 4-1 on the slate in a relief win over Louisiana Tech (Feb. 26) after working three innings, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) in a 12-4 ULM victory … made two starts in her final four appearances of the season … the first of those starts came against Central Arkansas (Feb. 29) where she logged five innings, allowed seven hits and five runs while striking out four batters in a no decision … final start of the season came against Georgia Southern (March 6) which dropped her record to 4-2 after allowing four runs and five walks over 0.2 innings in a 9-6 setback.Â
McNeese State: Under head coach James Landreneau, Coons helped lead the Cowgirls to back-to-back winning seasons, including the 2018 Southland Conference championship…Back-to-back letter winners for the Cowgirls…Posted a 6-2 record with a 3.79 ERA during her freshman year and a 4-4 record with a 2.32 ERA during her sophomore year.

Prep: A member of the National Honor Society, student athlete of the month and named to the principal’s list all four years…On the field, Coons was a two-sport athlete (softball and soccer) and helped lead the Neville Tigers to two district championships…Named district MVP during freshman and junior years, named to the All-State team during her freshman, junior and season years and earned All-District honors during her senior year…Named All-NELA pitcher of the year during junior year and was a finalist for NELA big schools pitcher of the year during her senior year.

Personal: Born January 21, 1999 to Bob and Tracie Coons in Monroe, La….Has three older sisters, Brandy (35), Courtney (32) and Holly (26)…Father, Bob, played baseball at ULM from 1979-81…Enjoys painting, photography and spending time with family and friends…Plans to major in kinesiology with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy.
