Hailey Kuhns is in her first season with ULM Women’s Basketball as a graduate assistant.
Kuhns is serving as the coordinator of community and campus outreach, while assisting in fundraising, special events and recruiting and video services. Kuhns also serves as the liaison for fan engagement, overseeing events such as the Warhawks Education Game. Kuhns planned and executed the Warhawks photo shoot including makeup artists, hairstylists as well as various wardrobe changes and backdrops. Kuhns will also assist with the ULM Women’s Basketball Mentor program and is spearheading the re-connection of Warhawk Women’s Basketball alumni.
“Hailey has been a fantastic addition to our staff,” said head coach Brooks Donald Williams. “She has been so persistent with getting our girls involved in the community and on campus, and is extremely eager to do anything and everything to help our program get reestablished. She loves our state and has a passion for women’s basketball. We are fortunate to have her here at ULM and look forward to the impact she will have on our program.”
Kuhns spent the last four and half years with the LSU Women’s Basketball program as an undergraduate and a graduate student. For the past two years at LSU, she was the head Graduate Manager. Her duties consisted of collaborating in logistics coordination of team travel, maintained statistical analysis of daily practices, recruited and trained new managers in managerial duties, assisted with planning and running events for boosters, supervised managers during recruiting events and game day activities, assisted in ordering and distributing team gear, and filmed practices and games.
While at LSU, Kuhns completed her bachelor’s in Kinesiology with a focus in Sports Administration in 2017, while obtaining her master’s in Kinesiology with a focus in Sports Management in 2019.
For the past three summers, Kuhns has worked with a nonprofit organization, “Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians”. With LAFP she had the opportunity to solicit donations for the annual auction and raffle from businesses and foundation partners, budgeted analysis and financial ticket tracking, coordinated and executed annual charitable golf tournament, and oversaw administrative duties. During her time with LAFP she assisted with raising over $100,000 for the LAFP Foundation.
“I am really excited about working with Coach Brooks and this awesome ULM staff to advance my career in college basketball, and I could not be happier to still be in this great state of Louisiana,” Kuhns said.
Kuhns is a native of Zachary, Louisiana, where she attended Zachary High School. Current ULM Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, Jessica Barber, played for Kuhns’ aunt, Martha Gore Algernon, at The University of Mobile.
