Will Roberts enters his third season as the head coach of the ULM women's soccer program in 2025 after two successful seasons at the helm in 2023 and 2024.
In the 2024 season, the Warhawks finished third in the Sun Belt West division with a 9-8-3 overall record. ULM opened the season by breaking six single-game records against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a stunning 9-0 victory. Roberts coached senior Mara Grutkamp to the top spot in career assists and points. Grutkamp was also named to the All-Sun Belt First Team and All-Louisiana First Team. The 2024 ULM soccer team ranks first in shutouts (8), fifth in goals (37) and third in wins (9) in program history. Freshman goalkeeper Jennifer Handy finished first in season shutouts (7) and seventh in goals-against average (1.34). Handy was also recognized as the All-Louisiana Freshman of the Year.Â
Under Roberts' direction, the ULM women’s soccer team finished the 2023 season with its best record in program history since joining the Sun Belt Conference. Three Warhawks earned spots on the all-conference awards list after Inge Konst and Lucia Lobato were both named First-Team All-SBC and Mara Grutkamp was named Second Team All-SBC. It marked the first time in school history that two Warhawks were named First Team All-SBC and three Warhawks were named to an all-conference team in the same season.
Roberts took over as acting head coach midway through the 2022 season. Under Roberts’ guidance, the 2022 Warhawks finished the season with a 10-6-3 record, which ranked as the second-most wins in a single-season in program history. ULM ranked first in the Sun Belt Conference in shots (18.47 per game), second in points (5.32 pg.) and goals (38, 2.00 pg.) and fourth in assists (1.32 pg.). Individually, Inge Konst finished with eight goals, ranking seventh in the SBC. She also was fourth in shots per game (2.82), fifth in points per game (19), sixth in goals per game (.47) and seventh in shots (48) and points (19). Mara Grutkamp was second in assists (6), fourth in assists per game (.33), eighth in shots (44) and ninth in shots per game (2.44). Ashley Washburn was third in shots per game (2.93) and eighth in shots (44). Kedie Johnson was eighth in assists per game (0.27).
Roberts arrived in Monroe in 2020 and served as in assistant coach for two seasons. As an assistant, Roberts helped guide the Warhawks to eight wins in 2021, marking the fifth-most wins in a single-season in program history. ULM also advanced to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship for the first time in program history. The club set single-season program records for points (146), goals (53) and shots (383). Theoni Zerva and Courtney Marten were each named First-Team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference after Zerva set the school record for points (32) and assists (10) in a single season, and Marten set the school records for goals (14) and game-winning goals (5). Mara Grutkamp was named honorable mention All-Louisiana after scoring six goals with five assists.

In his first season at ULM, Roberts helped the Warhawks to their most wins (5) since 2016 while scoring the most goals (21) since 2015. Freshman forward Janet Stopka was an honorable mention selection to the All-Louisiana team from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association after scoring a school-record tying 10 goals.

The Denbigh, North Wales native came to ULM with head coach Sean Fraser after working for Fraser as a graduate assistant at Lincoln Memorial University.

At LMU, Roberts helped guide the Railsplitter women’s program to a pair of South Atlantic Conference Tournament championships and NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. In 2018, Roberts was on staff as LMU finished 14-5-2 overall, while going 7-3 in the SAC and winning the conference tournament. The Railsplitters advanced to the Sweet 16 and finished the season with a No. 18 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches DII National Poll. Roberts assisted LMU’s late-season run in 2019 as the Railsplitters won the SAC Tournament for a second consecutive season and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. LMU achieved a No. 6 ranking by the United Soccer Coaches, the highest ranking in program history.

During his collegiate career at the University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia, Roberts was a four-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American and a four-time national semifinalist. His 72 goals at Charleston rank him in the Top 25 all-time in the history of NCAA Division II soccer. In 2017, he led his team to the national championship, as well as runner-up finishes in 2014 and 2016.
